A heartfelt thank you to the Kigali Golf Resort & Villas for graciously hosting today’s Media Day and for standing with us in this important cause.

Speaking to the Media, Hassan Lumumba from Dash Global, noted that their relationship with World Vision Rwanda did not begin with the golf tournament but has been built over time through a shared commitment to supporting communities.

“For us, this partnership with World Vision Rwanda means a great deal. We have worked together on several initiatives and share a common vision of creating lasting impact in the communities we serve.

What makes this partnership meaningful is that it goes beyond one-day events. Our focus is on supporting sustainable initiatives that continue to benefit people long after an event has ended.
We believe in contributing to programmes that create real opportunities and lasting change for vulnerable communities.

In his remarks, Jacques Visagie the General Manager, Kigali Golf Resort & Villas said that Kigali Golf Resort & Villas was proud to be part of an initiative that demonstrates the power of sport to create meaningful change.

He stressed that the upcoming Golf Tournament is more than just a competition. It is an opportunity to bring together business leaders, partners, and the wider community in support of World Vision Rwanda's vital work for children and families across the country.

He also expressed his gratitude to all sponsors, participants, and partners who have made the event possible, noting that their collective efforts are helping to invest in brighter futures and strengthen communities.

During the Friends of World Vision Rwanda Golf Tournament Media Day, Peter Geleta, the CEO of Trinity Metals, highlighted that a huge focus of Trinity Metals and their Cooperate Social Responsibility programs is on children and vulnerable people in our communities.

“We focus on health, education, and alternative livelihoods. Because around the mines, you often find young children getting involved in illegal mining activities simply because they don’t have any other alternatives. They need to eat. So, nutrition is a major focus for us.

When this initiative came up, we jumped at the opportunity to be a co-sponsor because it addresses such an important issue and can change so many lives going forward. Children are our future. If we have strong, healthy children, that creates a resilient community and also a future workforce for Trinity Metals.

At the Friends of World Vision Rwanda Golf Tournament Media Day, our National Director underscored the importance of investing in child nutrition and school feeding.

Funds raised through this year's tournament will support the Integrated School Feeding Model in Burera District, including a centralized school kitchen and fruit tree planting initiatives that aim to improve nutrition, strengthen household resilience, and create lasting impact for children.

Together, we can help build a future where every child has the opportunity to survive, thrive, and reach their full potential.
