Today, we celebrate the International Day of Play and the incredible power of play in shaping healthy, happy, and confident children.

Play helps children learn, create, connect, solve problems, build resilience, and simply enjoy being children. It is not just an activity it’s a right.

This year’s theme, “Protect Play, Protect Childhood,” calls on all of us to create safe and inclusive environments where every child can play, learn, and thrive.

Over the past three days, UMURI Foundation joined fellow CSOs and stakeholders in the Building Pandemic-Ready Communities ( ) Country-Level Launch and Learning Sessions in Kigali.

The workshop focused on strengthening community preparedness for public health emergencies through community-based surveillance, risk communication and community engagement, infection prevention and control, and the One Health approach.

Thank you and for bringing partners together to build stronger, more resilient, and pandemic-ready communities in Rwanda.
