GRAND BOOK LAUNCHING!

27th June 2026 was more than just another day it was a remarkable milestone in the history of South Sudanese literature.

This memorable event was organized by Africa World Books, led by its CEO, Elder Peter Lual, in collaboration with the South Sudanese Students' Association in Rwanda. It brought together distinguished authors whose works preserve our history, inspire future generations, and contribute to the intellectual growth of our nation.

Among the featured authors was Prof. Peter Obedayo Tingwa, former Dean of the School of Natural Resources at the University of Juba, who launched his book:

Ezboni Mondiri Gwonza: The South Sudanese Nationalist and Politician

His long-held dream of launching this book alongside fellow South Sudanese authors became a reality, featuring:

Dr. Gabriel G*i Riam – Nuer Nation: Socio-Economic and Cultural Change

Dr. Akuch Akuol – Violence, Trauma, South Sudanese Manhood, and Family Crisis in the Diaspora

Ruot Mawich Yak Deng (Former president of South Sudanese students Association at Kigali Independent University) – My Journey From Camp to Kigali

Theme: "The Unsung Heroes of the South Sudanese Struggle for Freedom."*

The occasion was not merely a book launch it was a celebration of knowledge, identity, culture, and history. It reflected the importance of preserving our stories and passing wisdom from one generation to the next.

Adding color and excitement to the event, South Sudanese communities in Rwanda proudly showcased their rich cultural heritage through vibrant traditional performances, demonstrating the beauty of our diversity and the unity that binds us together.

It was truly a historic day that reminded us that books are not just pages—they are the legacy of a people and the bridge between generations.
