Announcement of Our Brand New Executive Director, Barrister Desmond T. Orisewezie for 2025 - 2027 administration
We are pleased to formally announce and introduce Mr. Desmond T. Orisewezie as the newly appointed Executive Director of the Sages of International Law of Africa - SILA. After a thorough selection process, Desmond has finally emerged as one who fits the cap, bringing with him a wealth of experience in international law, policy and strategy, strong leadership skills, and a clear vision aligned with our mission of advancing the understanding, observance and application of international humanitarian law, couple with restarting the capacities of local communities affected by armed/humanitarian conflicts across Africa and beyond. SILA, through the SILPA Chambers, institute cases of violations of the rights of journalists, IDPs, women and children's rights, torture, inhuman and degrading treatment of persons and suspects at the appropriate international, regional, and national courts, irrespective of status, race, religion and boundaries: aimed at demanding and calling for respect of international law principles and ensuring accountability.
We are confident that Desmond's expertise and dedication will be instrumental in driving SILA forward, fostering growth, and strengthening our impact.
