Ahazaza Students Explore Environmental Science Through Hands-On Measurements.

Students from Ahazaza Independent School participated in environmental monitoring using GLOBE Program protocols to measure water quality, soil pH, soil moisture, and light intensity. They learned how these factors influence plant growth and ecosystem health, gaining hands-on experience in scientific data collection. The activity helped them understand the importance of environmental measurements in assessing soil and water conditions for sustainable agriculture. Through this project, they developed skills in scientific inquiry, data analysis, and environmental stewardship. The experience also encouraged them to engage in STEM learning and apply their knowledge to real-world environmental challenges.

Greening schools is one of the solutions to climate change.
Schools are not only sites for learning about climate change; they can also be leaders in climate solutions. By engaging students in tree planting activities, we can combat climate change and also foster a positive attitude toward the significance of trees.

Today, on November 27th, 2024, Stewards of Eden donated fruit trees to ACEJ Karama TSS students here in Muhanga District, Southern Province of Rwanda. These trees were planted in the school’s garden. Before the students received training on climate change and how to mitigate it. And we believe that they will be the leaders of climate change in the future with the knowledge they have gained from the training.
