What once seemed impossible is slowly becoming a reality for Jeanne and her family in Huye District, Tumba Sector, Cyimana Cell, and Ubumwe Village. ❤️

Through the Poverty Graduation Program, Jeanne now owns three pigs that support her farming activities, help feed her children, provide school materials, and enable the family to afford health insurance.

This transformation is made possible through the continuous support of FMI “Ubumuntu” working in Huye district, especially in Tumba Sector, in collaboration with para-social workers. Together, they closely work with families on the journey out of by providing , , home follow-ups, and practical life skills that empower them to build sustainable livelihoods and improve their living conditions.

During a recent follow-up visit, Jeanne shared how her family’s life has improved, proving that empowerment, resilience, and community support can create lasting change.

Today, FMI “Ubumuntu” hosted the District Youth Council Coordinator for Gisagara District, along with a delegation from “Isoko yo Kurama.” The visit aimed to assess youth development progress in the district over the past five years.

FMI “Ubumuntu” presented its key initiatives, including inclusive education, youth talent development through traditional dance and football, community programs, and an agriculture project focused on passion fruit and Irish potato farming. This project is expected to generate income to support and sustain education programs, especially for vulnerable families.

The visitors highly appreciated the achievements of FMI “Ubumuntu,” noting their significant impact on empowering youth and improving the wider community.

Yesterday, through the "Weekend and Holiday Coaching Program," children from FMI “Ubumuntu,” in collaboration with , visited a survivor of the Genocide against the Tutsi 1994 live in Amashya Village, Higiro Cell, Nyanza Sector in Gisagara District.

What began as a visit became a moment of truth and reflection. As the shared a deeply moving testimony, the children listened, learned, and connected with Rwanda’s history in a personal way. It was a reminder of the past, but also a call to carry forward values of , , and .

This annual initiative continues to shape young minds, helping them grow not only in knowledge but in compassion, humanity, and unity.

Today at Higiro playground in Nyanza Sector, Gisagara District, FMI “Ubumuntu” FC proudly played a friendly football match against RDF Nyanza FC.
This was not just about winning,it was about building stronger relationships, promoting peace, and creating opportunities for children and youth to showcase and grow their through .

The match was filled with teamwork, respect, joy, and true sportsmanship. FMI “Ubumuntu” FC secured a 5–2 victory, but the real win was the friendship, unity, and stronger partnership built between both teams.

Through our partnership with ActionAid Rwanda, our Project is doing more than promoting sustainable farming,it is transforming lives of .

Young people are gaining jobs, but also valuable skills in agroecology. They learn how to protect the soil, restore fertility, and fight climate change, then take that knowledge back to their communities to inspire and train others.

As communities understand and apply agroecology in their daily farming activities, harvests improve, food security grows, and families enjoy healthier lives. With better income and enough food at home, parents are able to support their children’s education, reducing school dropout and giving every child a better chance to stay in school and succeed.

✨️Did you know that sometimes the best way to teach a child is through laughter, play, and the feeling of belonging?

Yesterday, our “Weekend and Holiday Coaching Program” became more than just a learning space. It became a place of joy, friendship, and healing.Through games and recreational activities, children laughed freely, played together, and created beautiful memories. For many of them, these simple moments mean so much more than fun, they mean feeling seen, accepted, and connected.

When children learn through play, they don’t just gain knowledge, they build confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging. They learn to share love, overcome loneliness, and grow together in unity.Sometimes, the strongest lessons begin with a simple smile, a game, and the chance to feel included.

This Sunday, at ADEPR Church Kigembe Parish, FMI “Ubumuntu” conducted an awareness campaign aimed at encouraging children to return to school and helping them develop a love for education through the rewarding of high-performing students and those who had returned to school, regardless of their religious background.

This initiative was organized by members of the church following a consultative meeting between FMI “Ubumuntu” and leaders of churches and faith-based organizations under the Learning and Inclusion for Transformation (LIFT) Program. During this meeting, they agreed to actively contribute to improving access to inclusive and quality education for all children.

A total of 21 students were rewarded for being among the top five best-performing learners in their respective schools. Among them, six (6) children are beneficiaries of the LIFT Program who had previously dropped out of school but were successfully reintegrated back into education through this program. This clearly demonstrates that when every child is supported and given equal opportunities, they can succeed and excel.

The activity was successfully carried out and will now take place every school term as one of the sustainability strategies agreed upon during the meeting, ensuring the continued impact and long-term success of the LIFT Program.
