Long dry season should not be a reason for food shortage. 🌱
For years, many families feared the dry season because it often meant poor harvests and food shortages. Today, that story is changing.
Through the FMI “Ubumuntu”Youth Agroecology Learning Site, community members are gaining practical skills in climate-resilient agriculture, enabling them to produce more food on small plots of land and adapt to changing weather conditions. They now better understand how to respond to climate change, and in this dry season, many families still have enough food because they are applying what they learned.
The community proudly celebrates the learning site for bringing practical knowledge closer to them, knowledge that is strengthening livelihoods, improving food security, and helping children stay healthy, remain in school, and build brighter futures.
🤝Together, let's invest in climate-smart agriculture because resilient farmers build food-secure communities, and food-secure communities build educated children and sustainable futures.
