We have decided to tell you about the winners of the Friendship Cup U4 2026, who are defending the honour of our country on the sports arena.

The Sverdlovsk Region has previously been represented by teams at the Friendship Cup, but for the athletes coached by Anastasiya Kodirova from the N. V. Karpol Volleyball Academy, this is their first experience participating in our international tournament.

Still, a connection between generations can be traced. Ariana Kodirova, the sister of 2020 Friendship Cup participant Leila Kodirova, has come to Novosibirsk as part of the 2026 team — now under the guidance of her mother.

On their way to the final, the girls from Yekaterinburg swept their rivals aside like a hurricane, not conceding a single set!

The final match was the culmination of this victorious march and the first real test for Anastasiya Kodirova’s team. Klyuch Sibiri from Tobolsk also reached the main match of the Friendship Cup unbeaten, having faced serious resistance only in the semi‑finals from Bely Yar from Khakassia, which ultimately became the bronze medallist of the tournament.
After a crushing first set, practically no one had any doubts about the victory of the Karpol Academy — but the trainees of Yelena Kutovaya thought otherwise. They made an incredible comeback from 19:24 down on Kira Tsapiga’s serve. Unfortunately for the Tobolsk team, this wasn’t enough. The deciding set ended with a score of 30:28, with Milana Gul putting the winning point with an ace.

Happy Birthday, Yumilka!

Today, our congratulations go to the distinguished guest of the FRIENDSHIP CUP — Yumilka Ruiz from Cuba.

For those who didn’t know — and for those who’ve been with the tournament participants all week — here’s a quick introduction:

Captain of the Cuban national team (2001–2008);

Two‑time Olympic champion (1996, 2000);

World champion (1998) and World Cup winner (1999);

Winner of the Italian Cup and the CEV Cup (both in 2000);

Russian champion as part of VC «Uralochka» (2005);

Member of the Volleyball Hall of Fame (inducted in 2023).

Yumilka has arrived in Novosibirsk on an official visit as a representative of the Cuban Volleyball Federation, which is why the flag of the Republic of Cuba proudly flew under the arches of the FRIENDSHIP CUP arena.

A great coach of great coaches! Hristo Iliev — an honoured guest at the FRIENDSHIP CUP U14 2026

Perhaps not all the young participants — and not only the young ones — realized who exactly was by their side throughout the tournament days. Time flies quickly, but it’s in our power to remember the people who have contributed to the development of world volleyball.

Hristo Iliev spent almost his entire professional career playing for Levski‑Sofia club, Bulgaria (as an opposite hitter).

At the 1980 Moscow Olympics, Hristo took part in all 6 matches of the Bulgarian national team, with which he won silver medals. The victory was celebrated by the USSR national team.

As a coach, Hristo led not only his home club Levski, but also the Bulgarian national team. Among his trainees are the coaches of VC Lokomotiv‑Novosibirsk: Georgy Petrov, Andrey Zhekov and Plamen Konstantinov. Also among them is the coach of VC Zenit Saint Petersburg — Vladimir Alekno, whose meeting with Hristo at the FRIENDSHIP CUP came as a complete surprise for Vladimir Romanovich.

“Hristo was originally scheduled to come to Novosibirsk in May 2020 for our international tournament, the NATIONS CUP, as the coach of the Bulgarian team. We planned a big Olympic reunion with the heroes of the 1980 Games, but unfortunately, the world went into lockdown that year. And now, 6 years later, our meeting has finally taken place! All these years we’ve been on the phone, talking about volleyball — and especially about youth volleyball. And I’m very glad that Hristo has seen our youth project and that he liked it!”

FRIENDSHIP CUP U14 2026 — digital tournament format. Now with player diplomas too!

No more hand‑written diplomas with “doctor’s” handwriting or grammatical errors in names and surnames!
We no longer issue paper diplomas to players, but you can download their electronic version from the tournament website at any time. If you wish, you can print it out and frame it, or send a digital copy wherever required (for example, by attaching it to your portfolio).
And here’s a less obvious benefit: not a single tree was harmed in the creation of electronic diplomas!

How to download your diploma:
As soon as team standings are published on the tournament website, a “DIPLOMA” label appears on the pages of the winner and prize‑winners — for each player. Just click on it to download the digital version of the diploma from the website.
The service works without website authorization, and it’s not a pre‑attached picture — it’s an automatic data generation upon request. This means that diplomas of winners will now be available for all past FRIENDSHIP CUP events.

VOLAR — the official ball of the international FRIENDSHIP CUP tournament!

The Russian‑made ball has been soaring over the net at our tournament since 2024 and is produced specially for us, featuring the FRIENDSHIP CUP logo.

This year, with our support, Volar has also become the official ball of the BERH Volleyball Club from Mongolia. To mark the club’s 10th anniversary, a batch of balls has been released bearing the symbols of the FRIENDSHIP CUP and the BERH Volleyball Club. Next up: Cuba!

And coming soon, we’ll be giving away 12 Volar balls autographed by rising stars and legends of world volleyball: Hristo Iliev, Yumilka Ruiz, Simeon Nikolov, and Dmitry Lyzik (and perhaps a few more will have time to sign them).

The balls will be raffled off among participants of the FRIENDSHIP CUP 2026 who post content on their social media using the hashtag , and among donors who make contributions to the Children’s Volleyball Support Fund “FUTURE”.

ATTENTION! The Volar giveaway for participants and donors has been rescheduled and will take place on May 19, 2026 (Tuesday) live on the Volleyball Wave programme on Radio “MOST”.

In 2026, the Volar balls for the FRIENDSHIP CUP were purchased using additional financial support from the Russian Sports Fund for official events included in the Unified Calendar of Events of the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation. Funding was provided via the All‑Russian Volleyball Federation (AVF).

🏆 1st place — N. V. KARPOL ACADEMY, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Yekaterinburg.
Coach — Anastasia Kodirova.

Coach — Elena Kutovaya.
Elena is a two‑time winner of the FRIENDSHIP CUP (2018, 2019). She returned with her trainees after a 7‑year break. A hat‑trick wasn’t achieved, but the tradition of standing on the podium remains unbroken.

We present the winners and prize‑winners!

🏆 1st place — ORBITA, MBOU SOSh No. 5 LMO, Primorsky Krai, Lesozavodsk.
Coach — Sergey Sukov.
Just think about it: this is a team from an ordinary secondary school in a small town with a population of only 35 000 people. And all of them study in the same grade.
Along with the cup and medals, the team received gifts from VC «DINAMO‑LO».
We hope that Sergey Dmitrievich has trainees ready for a trip to Novosibirsk in 2027. The guaranteed invitation for MBOU SOSh No. 5 LMO has already been earned by his trainees.

🥈 2nd place — BERKH, Volleyball Club «Berkh», Mongolia.
Coach — Purevsuren Buzhinkhuu.
Mongolia never ceases to amaze us: having first arrived last year, BERKH took bronze, becoming the first foreign medallist of the FRIENDSHIP CUP; now they’ve won silver and reached the first international final of our tournament. What can we expect from Purevsuren’s trainees next year?
