We are a group of research scientists working to advance our fundamental understanding of microbes, their lifestyles and evolution. Our favourite research topics are:
- molecular analysis of microbial diversity of wetlands;
- physiology and ecology of methanotrophic bacteria;
- microbial agents destructing organic matter in wetlands;
- ultramicrobacteria in freshwater ecosystems;
- poorly studied bacterial phyla – Planctomycetes, Acidobacteria, Verrucomicrobia.
