At the end of the second day at C-MIMUN 2026, the delegates enjoyed a documentary about Vitaly Churkin and the play by the student theater!

While watching the film, the delegates learned more about the life and work of Vitaly Churkin, the outstanding Russian diplomat, namesake of our model since 2017.

The performance of the student theater left an unforgettable impression on our delegates! The acting, the plot, and the production were a perfect ending to the day. We would like to thank the G.V. Strelkov Workshop for immersing us in this amazing play!

We are looking forward to seeing you at the cultural program events!

===INTERIM RESULTS OF THE SESSIONS===

Dear friends, the first day of the sessions has come to an end. Most committees have nearly completed listening to paper positions and are ready to proceed to drafting and discussing resolution drafts

The General Assembly continues discussing the agenda and listening to paper positions of member states.

In the First Committee of the General Assembly, listening to paper positions is ongoing, with countries actively using diplomatic correspondence.

The UN Volunteers committee has listened to paper positions of nearly all countries, and delegates have already begun forming coalitions for further work on the draft working paper.

ICAO has completed listening to paper positions and has moved on to discussing the drafting of the committee report.

The Third Committee of the General Assembly is approaching the halfway point in listening to paper positions. The debates are becoming increasingly intense.
In the FAO, since the opening of the session, the paper positions of 20 delegations have been listened to; some have already started forming coalitions and discussing future draft resolutions.
The Historical Security Council has immersed itself in the atmosphere of 1998 and is discussing the issue of nuclear weapons on the Indo-Pakistani subcontinent.
UNICEF has begun the process of forming coalitions and drafting a resolution.
Delegates of ECOSOC are presenting their positions from the podium, questioning each other, and actively forming coalitions through diplomatic correspondence.
In the IAEA, heated debates are ongoing on the transition to green energy.
In UNIDO, delegates presented their paper positions and, after lunch and a speech by Kirill Barsky, formed working groups and began drafting resolutions.
UNP continues listening to positions of countries. Delegates are asking each other numerous questions, including via diplomatic correspondence.
Participants of the Sixth Committee of the General Assembly have listened to more than half of paper positions and have initiated the formation of coalition and strategic alliances.

After the debates at mock sessions, our delegates went on guided tours!

The first group visited the Central House of Architects — the best place to immerse themselves in art, learning more about the secrets of building structures 🏛️

The second group ventured into the Yandex Museum, where delegates got acquainted with the amazing world of technology, discovered the roots of personal computer industry and saw the first game consoles and arcade machines 🎮

The excursions proved to be incredibly breathtaking for the delegates, left pleasant impressions and also sparked the interest of children in new areas!

This is just the beginning of our social programme, and we look forward to seeing you at next events! ✨

Dear friends! High schoolers traditionally participate in our Model along with students.

On the first day, the delegates, studying at school, had a meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Pre-University Education – Sergey Sinelnikov.

The participants learned the most necessary information about admission to the main diplomatic university of the country – Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. The speaker of the event was Sergey Sinelnikov, Dean of the Faculty of Pre-University Studies.

One of the first-day events of C-MIMUN 2025 were mock sessions, during which delegates were able to repeat the rules of procedure!

As part of mock sessions, the participants discussed the «cappuciono vanilla syrup price hike as a crime against zoomers» agenda in Russian, and «recognising wearing sandals with socks as an international crime» in English.

The debate was heated and intense! One by one, participants went to the tribune to share their views on the issues.

The Sunday sessions will be remembered by all Model participants, as they were a great opportunity to repeat the rules of procedure in a fun game format!

🇬🇧THE UNITED NATIONS IN CONTEMPORARY INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

On the first Model day, the participants attended a lecture given by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Grand PhD in Political Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Military Sciences - Vladimir Zaemsky🇺🇳

🌐During the lecture «The United Nations in contemporary international relations» the Professor told the participants of the Model about his work at the United Nations, noted its increasing role in the modern world and stressed the need to reform the Organization taking into account the current global situation.

«For Russia, the UN is a vital organization whose work is dedicated to resolving various crisis situations and ensuring international peace and security. In recent years the number of member states has tripled,» emphasized Zaemsky.

At the end of the lecture the delegates had the opportunity to ask questions about the work and reformation of the Organization and receive comprehensive answers from the expert☺️

We thank Vladimir Zaemsky for such an insightful lecture and always wait for him at the Churkin Moscow International Model UN!

Good morning, dear friends! The long-awaited first day of our Model has arrived, which means that you are about to embark on the most eventful and productive week of this spring!🌟

Meet us at registration in the Atrium of the New Building of MGIMO on the 2nd floor. We will be waiting for you from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.!

Dear friends! March 2026 was marked by major decisions at the United Nations: from historic General Assembly resolutions to emergency meetings of the Security Council and key human rights sessions in New York and Geneva.

🔹UN GA: historic recognition of the transatlantic slave trade

On March 25, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution recognizing the transatlantic slave trade and the system of racial enslavement as one of the gravest crimes against humanity. The initiative, supported by 123 States, was led by Ghana with the active support of the African Union. The document calls not only for perpetuating the memory of the victims, but also for concrete steps in the field of reparations and systemic transformations to overcome persistent global inequality.

🔹Human Rights Council: urgent debate amid escalation in the Middle East

In March, two urgent discussions of the Human Rights Council took place in Geneva at once: the first was devoted to Iran’s missile strikes on the Persian Gulf countries and Jordan, the second to the attack on a school in the Iranian city of Minab. The EU presented resolutions on Belarus, Myanmar and the DPRK, and initiated a discussion on the protection of children in armed conflict.

🔹IMO: responding to the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz

Against the background of attacks on civilian vessels and the de facto blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, the International Maritime Organization held an emergency session in London. According to the UN, about 3,000 ships and 20,000 sailors were blocked in the region.
