Beseech Allah persistently on the Day of 'Arafah!

- It is reported from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

خَيْرُ الدُّعَاءِ دُعَاءُ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ وَخَيْرُ مَا قُلْتُ أَنَا وَالنَّبِيُّونَ مِنْ قَبْلِي لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ.

"The best supplication is the supplication on the Day of 'Arafah, and the best of what I and the prophets before me have said is: 'There is none worthy of worship except Allah, who has no partner. To Him belongs dominion and to Him belongs praise, and He is over all things competent.'"

لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ.

/La ilaha illallah, wahdahu la sharika lah, lahu-l-mulku wa lahu-l-hamd, wa huwa 'ala kulli shai'in qadir/.

📖 at-Tirmidhi 3585. The hadith is good. See "Sahih at-Targhib" 1536.

▪️ Sheikh Salih al-'Usaymi (حَفِظَهُ الله) said: "On the Day of 'Arafah, think about your needs and turn to Allah, being convinced that you will receive an answer. Ask Him persistently, for Allah is Generous and loves to be asked. And whoever asks the Generous will not be refused. O Allah, do not leave us with nothing!"

As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatu Llahi wa barakatuh!
Dear brothers and sisters!

Tomorrow, May 26th, is the day of 'Arafah — one of the greatest days in Islam. This is the ninth day of the month of Dhul-Hijjah, the day when pilgrims stand on Mount 'Arafat, and for the rest of the Muslims, it is a day of fasting, repentance, dua, and drawing closer to Allah.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"Fasting on the day of 'Arafah serves as an expiation for the sins of the past and the coming year." Muslim
The Prophet ﷺ also said: "There is no day on which Allah frees more servants from the Fire than on the day of 'Arafah."
Muslim

On this great day, it is desirable to:
— fast (for those who are not performing Hajj),
— make a lot of dua,
— remember Allah,
— repent of sins,
— read the Quran,
— do good deeds.

The best dua of the day of 'Arafah:
"La ilaha illa Allahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamd, wa Huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir."
(There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, who has no partner. To Him belongs dominion and praise, and He is capable of all things.)
May Allah accept our fasts, duas, and good deeds on this great day

PRESENCE OF THE HEART IN PRAYER

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

“In prayer you need to be humble, you need to think about the words you say in prayer and the movements you make. It is very important!

Prayer without humility is like a body without a soul. If you perform namaz, and your heart travels somewhere, then it turns out that your namaz is just bodily movements.

If your heart is present in prayer, then you feel that you are standing before Allah, that you are having a conversation with Him, approaching Him, remembering Him and calling on Him. This is the essence of prayer!”

Take advantage of the opportunity.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whatever day comes for the servants of Allah, except when two angels descend to earth and one of them says (i.e. makes dua, and it is known that the dua of an angel is accepted): “O Allah, reward the generous significant profit for a person.” And another says: “O Allah, reward the stingy with damage (loss).”
📖al-Bukhari and Muslim

Hafiz Nawawi (رَحِمَهُ الله) said: “The scholars say: “This means spending on worship, on good character, also on family, guests, on sadaqa and the like. And the one who spent money on it is not blamed, and it is not called israf. And the stinginess that is condemned is the stinginess from all this."

And all this is confirmed by the words of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in another hadith: “Let's send sadaka! Since the time will come when a person will go with his sadaqah in order to give it to someone, he will meet a person and want to give it to him, but he will object to him with the words: “If you had come with this sadaqah yesterday, then I would accept it, but today I have no need for it. And that person will not find someone who would accept his sadaqah."

BELIEVERS ARE ALWAYS SUCCESSFUL

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-'Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

You will never find anyone who is endowed with more mercy in mind than others, whose chest is more open than others, and whose heart is calmer than others, except in that of a believer. Even if he is a poor man. A believer is the most joyful person among people, the most peaceful, and there is no one who has such a breadth of soul and spaciousness in the chest than he.

If you wish, then read the words of Allah Almighty, which serve as proof of this: “We will certainly give the believing men and women who acted righteously a wonderful life and reward them for the best of what they did” (an-Nakhl, 16:97).

What is a wonderful life? A wonderful life is a wide chest and a calm heart. Those. no matter what befalls the believer and no matter what bad situation he finds himself in, his heart is always calm and his chest is open.

It is reported that Yahya Suhaib bin Sinan said: “The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “How amazing is the position of the believer! Verily, everything in his situation is good for him, and this is not given to anyone except the believer: if something pleases him, he thanks (Allah), and it becomes good for him, but if grief befalls him, he shows patience, and this (also) becomes good for him” [Muslim, 2999].

And if any misfortune befalls the unbelievers, do they show patience in it? Not at all, they are crushed and the whole world becomes small for them. It even happens that one of them commits su***de...

As for the disbelievers and those who have lost the religion of Allah and are lost in the pleasures and luxury of this world, even if they build and decorate their palaces, even if this whole world has blossomed for them, they will still remain in the Fire (as in this world and in eternal life).

Some righteous predecessors said: “If kings and their children knew what is in our hearts, they would fight us for it with their swords.”

DON'T BE CARELESS ABOUT YOUR LOVED ONES!

Take the time to remind your loved ones about tawhid, even if they study it. And if they don’t study it, then teach them yourself!

To remind you that you can swear only by Allah, and that vows and sacrifices are made only to Allah - it will be better for you! Do not forget to talk about the polytheism of those who believe in omens, horoscopes, predictions and the punishment for this.

Remember Luqman’s admonition to his son: “O my son! Do not associate partners with Allah, for polytheism is a great injustice.” (13:31)

Or Ibrahim’s call to his father:
“So he said to his father: “My father! Why do you worship something that does not hear or see and will not bring you any deliverance? My father! Knowledge was revealed to me that was not revealed to you. Follow me and I will lead you on the right path. My father! Do not worship Satan, for Satan disobeyed the Merciful. My father! I am afraid that you will be punished by the Merciful, and that you will become an assistant of Satan"
(Maryam, 42-46)

Ask your family and friends: “What does the testimony of “la ilaha illa Allah” mean? They will answer you: “This means that there is no one like Allah in creation, control.” The position of the one who says this is terrible, since the polytheists of the first times were of the same belief, not to mention the polytheists of our time.

◟Imam al-Shaukani said:

“The reason for the delusion of these common people is that living among their parents and relatives, seeing them with these beliefs, they adopted these beliefs from them.

People adopt these beliefs from the previous generation - the last from the first... the silence of those who knew the essence of the issue, those who have knowledge, their inaction and refusal to explain this to people, becomes the reason that these people remain in these views.”

Do not be indifferent to yourself and your loved ones, you will not lose anything if you call them to tawhid. Perhaps, by the will of Allah, this will be the reason that Allah will strengthen you in your religion and enter you into Paradise!

EVERYTHING IS TEMPORARY

Allah Almighty said:

وَتِلْكَ الْأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ النَّاسِ

“We alternate [prosperous and ill-fated] days for people in succession” (3:140).

Ibn Kathir, may Allah have mercy on him, relates the following story:

“The descendant of the Yemeni kings, Wa'il ibn Hujr al-Hadrami, having accepted Islam, migrated for the sake of Allah and came to the Messenger ﷺ.

Even before his relocation to Medina, the Prophet ﷺ informed his companions: “Soon one of the descendants of the kings will join us.”

When Wa'il arrived, the Prophet ﷺ greeted him and gave him a piece of land as a sign that he had given up power and property for the sake of Islam. Show location of site The Prophet ﷺ instructed Muawiyah ibn Abu Sufyan.

Muawiyah was very poor and did not even have a pair of sandals. He asked Vail to allow him to sit behind him on a camel. Vail refused, saying: “I refuse you not out of greed, but because you are not worthy to sit in the same saddle with a royal person.”

Then Muawiya asked him to at least borrow sandals to make it easier to walk on the hot sand. To which Vail also refused: “You are not worthy to walk in the king’s shoes. Just walk in the shadow of my camel.”

[Va’il had just converted to Islam, had not yet gone through the stages of Islamic self-education and retained pre-Islamic habits of ignorance].

But Allah Almighty changes people’s circumstances...

The time came when the Commander of the Faithful, Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, appointed Muawiyah as governor of the Levant. Also, the Commander of the Faithful, Uthman, may Allah be pleased with them, left him in the same post. After the assassination of the fourth caliph Ali and al-Hasan’s refusal from the post of caliph, power passed to Muawiyah, may Allah be pleased with them all.

At the age of eighty, Vaill visited the Levant. Receiving Wail, Muawiya sat him down next to him and reminded him of the story that happened between them many years ago.

Then he ordered to give Vail money. However, Wail gratefully refused, asked Muawiyah to distribute them to those in need and added: “Having witnessed your meekness and generosity, I would really like to turn back time and seat you in front of me riding that camel.”

📖Ibn Kathir “al-Bidaya wan-Nihaya” (5/80). This story is given in many historical sources. For example, at-Tirmidhi in the collection “al-Sunan” (1381) calls the story reliable;

Nothing lasts forever in this mortal life, be it wealth or poverty, power or weakness. Allah often changes times and conditions of people, testing us.
