Dear Colleagues,

There will be organized the 10th edition of the "Hadron Collider Physics Summer School - HASCO" in the period 24. July - 1. August 2022, in Goettingen, Germany. This school is planned to take place in presence.

The school is aimed at the master students, early PhD students and
advanced bachelor students, with the primary goal to provide a focused introduction to hadron collider physics, statistical data analysis and an introduction to the software package ROOT. In addition, tutorials on theoretical foundations of the Standard Model of elementary particle physics and experimental techniques to test it, will be provided.

as in the previous years there is the possibility for master and PhD students to apply for the Olga Igonkina Scholarship, an initiative to
facilitate international travel for promising Russian students.
Applicants should send a CV, a motivation letter with a concrete travel plan and the name of a reference to [email protected].
The deadline is the 31st of March, 2022.

As funds are limited, the scholarship is set up as a contest. A jury will select the prize winner. More information can be found on this website:

Journal Club, which is scheduled for Monday, February 7, at 11:00. Due to the current situation with COVID-19, the first meeting will be held online only.

The BLTP Weekly “Journal Club” will be a regular meeting of scientists for informal discussion of recent publications in peer-reviewed journals and arXiv / preprints in their own or related discipline. The journal club will keep you up to date with current research, help young scientists exercise their critical thinking and the ability to evaluate recent articles in scientific literature, improve presentation and scientific discussion skills.

The journal club is open to discussing all physical disciplines and will enable researchers to acquire the necessary interdisciplinary knowledge. The meetings will be in online/offline format and will bring up collaborations between both national and international scientific groups.

Anyone can give an informal presentation on a preprint in arXiv or a journal article published in the last week. In addition, there will be
an opportunity to talk about older, but important results, or about your own work.

Meetings of the Journal Club will be held every Monday in the
Blokhintsev Hall on the 4th floor of BLTP, from 11:00 to 12:00. Zoom participants are welcome.

The estimated presentation time for one paper is 15-30 minutes.
At the end of each meeting, a discussion of the latest physics news is planned.
