It is with deep sadness that we bid farewell to Dr Heward Wilkinson, an exceptional psychotherapist, teacher and thinker whose humanism, knowledge and dedication have left a profound mark on the development of integrative psychotherapy in Europe.

EIATSCYP joins our colleagues at EAIP in extending our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing him and learning from him.

The European Association for Integrative Psychotherapy is deeply saddened to announce the death of Dr Heward Wilkinson, former President and long-serving Vice-President of EAIP, who passed away on 28 August 2026.

Heward Wilkinson was distinguished scholar and author, psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer.
His academic journey encompassed English literature, theology, religious studies, philosophy, and psychotherapy.

He made a particularly significant contribution to the work of both the European Association for Psychotherapy and the European Association for Integrative Psychotherapy. He was remarkable for the depth of his insight, his exceptional humanism, and his collegial spirit.

We believe that Heward Wilkinson’s work will continue to influence the development of psychotherapy as a scientific discipline for many years to come and will inspire generations of psychotherapists.

🌍 Together for Every Child’s Mental Wellbeing

We are proud to share a publication developed within the project “Mind the Child: Together for Every Child’s Mental Wellbeing”, bringing together the voices of young people and professionals across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This publication highlights key findings and recommendations for strengthening an integrated Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) system within child protection.

📢 What makes this work especially meaningful:

It brings forward the authentic voices of young people, who clearly tell us: “We want you to hear us, not just fix us.”
It reflects the experiences of professionals who emphasise that systems are often reactive rather than preventive
It offers concrete recommendations for building a coordinated, multisectoral and sustainable system

Mental health of children and young people is not only an individual issue — it reflects the strength of our systems, relationships, and communities
