[RO]: Cum ar fi dacă voluntarii nu ar exista? Aceasta este ziua în care cu toții ar trebui să ne punem această întrebare.
"VOLUNTÁR, -Ă - Acționează de bunăvoie, din proprie inițiativă, nesilit de nimeni, în mod conștient; (despre acțiuni) care se face de bunăvoie, fără constrângere."
Aceasta este definiția voluntarului așa cm dicționarul alege să o prezinte, însă un voluntar este mult mai mult de atât. Voluntarii sunt cei care s-au angajat să schimbe lumea cu pași mici, cu zâmbete pe buze, cu candoare și solidaritate. Voluntarii sunt cei care dau viață unor idei aparent imposibile, copilărești. Sunt cei care fac totul cu pasiune și investesc cea mai importantă resursă, timpul, în împlinirea dorințelor și a visurilor. Uneori par invizibili, dai ei sunt cei care încearcă să aducă liniște și pace acolo unde este cea mai mare nevoie.
Organizaţia Naţiunilor Unite, prin Rezoluţia Adunării Generale nr. 40/212 din 17 decembrie 1985, a invitat guvernele din întreaga lume să marcheze anual, la 5 decembrie, Ziua internaţională a voluntarilor pentru dezvoltare economică şi socială.
Mandatat să susţină şi să promoveze acţiunile organizate cu prilejul Zilei internaţionale a voluntarilor la nivel mondial, Programul Naţiunilor Unite pentru Voluntariat (UNV) a fost înfiinţat în 1970. Pe lângă faptul că reuşeşte să mobilizeze mii de voluntari în fiecare în an, în întreaga lume, UNV contribuie la menţinerea păcii şi dezvoltării susţinând recunoaşterea voluntarilor şi a integrării voluntariatului în programele de dezvoltare.
Cu prilejul acestei zile, echipa EMSA Târgu Mureș vă urează la mulți ani, la cât mai multe proiecte deosebite și visuri împlinite.

"VOLUNTEER - someone who offers to do something that you do not have to do, often without having been asked to do it and/or without expecting payment."
This is the definition of a volunteer, just how the dictionary chooses to describe it, but a volunteer is so much more than that. The volunteers are the ones who have sworn to change the world with small steps, with a smile on their faces, with innocence and solidarity. The volunteers are the ones who give life to seemingly impossible, childlike ideas. They are the ones who do everything so passionately and invest the most important resource, time, in fulfilling hopes and dreams. Sometimes they seem invisible, but they are the ones who try to bring serenity wherever it is most needed.
The United Nations Organization, by the Resolution Nr. 40/212, adopted by the General Assembly on the 17th of December 1985, called on governments around the world to mark every year, on the 5th of December, the International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social Development.
Mandated to support and promote the actions organized worldwide on the International Volunteer Day, the United Nations Volunteer Program (UNV) was established in 1970. Besides managing to mobilize thousands of volunteers each year, worldwide, UNV contributes to peacekeeping and development, supporting the recognition of volunteers and the integration of volunteering into development programs.
