Robert Carlyle OBE, Patron
"School for Life Romania has changed these people's lives by providing education and activities for young adults who would not otherwise have received it. They have employed Romanian special needs teachers who work alongside these young adults and support their journey towards independence." Our Ethos:
Every individual, irrespective of ability or circumstance, has the potential to grow and develop as a person and become an active participant in their community. A community-led project is best able to recognise and meet the needs of that community and of the individuals within it.

Four years ago on 4 March 2022, the first refugees from Ukraine arrived at our project in Siret.

Within weeks, our colleagues in Siret had offered food, shelter & respite to around 1000 refugees at our project.

The small town of Siret, with a population of approximately 8000, that sits on the border of Ukraine in northern Romania, soon offered shelter, food & respite to hundreds of thousands of refugees arriving.

An amazing act of compassion, hard work, logistical planning & care by the whole community that are still impacted by the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Thank you to everyone that supported us.

We sincerely hope that all refugees that passed through our project & the border crossing 2km from our project have found a place of safety & somewhere they can call home ❀️

** APPEAL **

Dear Supporters

Our monthly standing order base has been the backbone of our funding across the past three decades. This predictable monthly income has helped us calculate our projected income, expenditure and overall budget.

Although our initial costs reduced with the closure of our school in September 2023, we lost income from Standing Orders being stopped, and the cost of living in Romania has substantially increased since this time.

Β· At present we have a shortfall of approx. Β£600 per month, amounting to around Β£7200 per annum.

Β· If 100 supporters started or increased their monthly standing order by Β£6, we could reach our target and mitigate this shortfall!

*Appeal*

We are therefore appealing to all of our supporters to see if you would consider;

* increasing your monthly donation
or
* setting one up if you haven’t already
or
* ask you friends or family to consider supporting our work.

Standing Orders can be set up via this Just Giving link below,

https://www.justgiving.com/charity/schoolforliferomania

If we reach our target of Β£600 per month this will help secure the future of the vulnerable women we care for in our supported housing.

Thank you for your ongoing support, we appreciate your kindness.
