🇵🇹 Oeiras, Portugal | August 4–17, 2026 🇵🇹✨
Our team has just returned from the incredible Erasmus+ youth exchange "SDGs Change Makers" in Portugal! 🌍
This mobility brought together 43 passionate participants from six different countries to tackle the 17 Sustainable Development Goals head-on. Instead of just talking about the future we want for our generation, we actively embarked in non-formal learning to figure out exactly how to make sustainability a reality across all areas of society. 💪🏻
Our two weeks staying at Casa Europa were packed with hands-on workshops and dynamic group work. We dove into a World Café discussing consumerism, got creative during a recycling and reuse atelier, and brainstormed ways to promote healthy and safe behaviors.
Our participants got to also interact the the local community through sportive activities like kayaking, orienteering volleyball and golf ⛳️
As well as through their volunteering in local dog shelters and beach clean-ups ⛱️
The youth exchange culminated with a street action excursion where we talked with the locals to raise awareness about the different SDGs we learned about.
We even got to explore the local heritage through a Photomarathon in Sintra, and a tour of Lisbon! 📸🌿
Of course, the absolute heart of this exchange was intercultural dialogue and social inclusion. From taking Portuguese classes and learning European dances to sharing our unique traditions during vibrant Intercultural Evenings, we broke down prejudices and built strong, cross-border bonds. 🤝✨
A massive thank you to our amazing host organization, ProAtlântico - Associação Juvenil, , for providing the perfect space for us to grow, connect, and thrive. It was an absolute honor to collaborate with such inspiring change-makers from Portugal 🇵🇹, Spain 🇪🇸 (), Bulgaria 🇧🇬 (), Lithuania 🇱🇹 (), Italy 🇮🇹 (.italy), and of course our own team from Greece 🇬🇷!
The exchange may have wrapped up, but our drive to be active citizens and launch concrete projects in our hometowns to achieve the SDGs has never been stronger!
