In a constantly changing industry, being part of professional communities and engaging with experienced experts are important steps in building a strong career.

Pierre Emmanuel d’Huart – SPE Regional Director for Europe and Head of Offshore Technology Development at SAIPEM – is coming to UPG Ploiești to give a presentation about the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and how the organization supports young professionals in their development.

With extensive international experience and an active role in offshore technology development, Pierre Emmanuel d’Huart will speak about the opportunities SPE offers, the benefits of being part of a global network, and how students can get involved and make themselves visible in the industry.

Our PetroBowl team has represented the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti Student Chapter at the Europe Regional Qualifier in Paris last Thursday.

This achievement is a testament to our team’s dedication, perseverance, and passion for the field. Although we didn’t qualify for ATCE this year, the experience was truly rewarding and filled with valuable lessons that will guide us in future competitions.

All of our past accomplishments — including this one — would not have been possible without the unwavering support of those around us. We extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Dragoș Cristea, Mrs. Ioana Mitrea, the SPE Romanian Section, Mrs. Iuliana Ghețiu, and the Faculty of Petroleum and Gas Engineering.

We’re deeply grateful to everyone who supported us throughout this journey — your encouragement made a real difference. With this experience behind us, we’re more motivated than ever to keep growing, keep learning, and keep pushing our limits.

𝗨𝗣𝗚 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗕𝗼𝘄𝗹 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀!

The UPG Team has kicked off the season with an impressive 1st place finish in the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 last Thursday! This victory secures their well-earned spot in the 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀, set to take place 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀, 𝗟𝗮 𝗗é𝗳𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲, 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟭𝟬-𝟭𝟮.

As in many previous editions of this prestigious competition, 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 have once again paid off! Our Team has been training intensively since last 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫, determined to uphold 𝗨𝗣𝗚’𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 PetroBowl!

We’re kicking off the year with the Early Spring Student Conference (ESSC) and the PetroBowl Regional Qualifiers this Thursday!

Join us and our PetroBowl , which, along with two teams from .uaiciasi , will compete once again for a spot in the next round: The European Qualifiers in Paris next month. 🥐

“We have prepared hard, having the goal to be the first team in Europe this year and then to make a strong impression in the USA.
But first, one step at a time: let’s meet our friends from Iasi and gain valuable experience from these matches!
Great Teams are built one match at a time, this is just the beginning!” said Vlad Smeu, Captain of our team.

Alongside his teammates, Robert G, Paul C, Marian N, and Bogdan T, they have big ambitions for this new PetroBowl Season.
