Four countries, one trail: participants from Hungary, Portugal, Czechia, and Slovakia spent amazing days hiking and climbing together through the Bükk mountains.

Day by day, the trail took them from Dédes Castle to the Udvar-kő cave known as Dante's Inferno, then through rain-soaked forest past the ruins of the Pauline Monastery of the Holy Spirit, before a final hike ending in Ómassa. One afternoon along the way turned into impromptu bouldering on a rock face. Back at camp each evening, goulash over the fire was one of many small intercultural moments between the four groups.

This mobility is part of Pathways to Outdoors, an Erasmus+ Sport project bringing young people together around hiking, outdoor skills, and healthy lifestyles.

Participants from Portugal, Slovakia, Czechia, and Hungary came together on the island of Madeira (Portugal) for the first Hiking Mobility of the Pathways to Outdoors Erasmus+ Sport project.

Set in one of Europe’s most breathtaking hiking destinations, this mobility focused on building skills in hiking organisation, safety, and group leadership in an international context. Through Madeira’s unique trails, participants exchanged good practices, explored different hiking environments, and strengthened their capacity to use hiking as a tool to promote healthier and more active lifestyles.

More than just hiking, this mobility was about learning, collaboration, and creating pathways to bring outdoor activities back to local communities across Europe.

🚣 A week of learning, adventure, teamwork, and unforgettable memories on the Hron River!

From 6 to 12 June, participants from Portugal, Slovakia, Czechia, and Hungary came together in Slovakia for the Rafting Training, part of the Raft With Us Sport Project. Throughout the week, they developed rafting skills, learned about water safety and emergency response, strengthened their teamwork, and explored the beautiful nature of the Horehronie region.

From the first paddle strokes to the final kilometres on the river, every day brought new challenges, new friendships, and new opportunities to grow. Guided by experienced instructors, participants gained confidence on the water while sharing an international experience filled with cooperation, fun, and adventure.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this mobility such a positive and memorable experience. We leave Slovakia with new skills, stronger connections, and many great memories to take home.

🥾 Hiking Mobility in Portugal 🇵🇹

Last week, participants from Portugal, Slovakia, Czechia, and Hungary met in Madeira for the first hiking mobility of Pathways to Outdoors. Four days, great weather, and an island that packs a surprising variety of landscapes into a very small space: dense laurel forest, steep coastal cliffs, open ridges, and trails that shift character from one valley to the next.

Getting comfortable with different types of terrain and understanding what each one demands in terms of planning, pacing, and keeping a group safe. More hiking mobilities are ahead - stay tuned! 🌿

🚣 Days full of adrenaline, teamwork, and unforgettable moments on the Paiva River, in Portugal! 🇵🇹

During the Rafting Training in Portugal mobility, participants faced challenging waters together, learning how cooperation, communication, and trust make all the difference when navigating demanding situations on the river. From practicing safety procedures and emergency response to overcoming obstacles as a team, every day brought new experiences and lessons.

Beyond the adrenaline, this week also created space for cultural exchange, new friendships, and discovering the beautiful surroundings of Arouca and the UNESCO-recognized Geopark. 🌍

A challenging adventure that combined sport, responsibility, resilience, and international cooperation. 💪🌊

A special thank you to Luso Rafting and especially to Octávio Canhão - the first rafting instructor in Portugal - for guiding our group through the rapids and teaching us how to cross obstacles in the wild waters with style 😎🤘

Ten days filled with growth, connection, reflection, and unforgettable memories ✨

Vibe Check brought together young people from Czechia, Hungary, Lithuania, Portugal, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia to explore mental, emotional, physical, and social well-being through interactive workshops, shared experiences, and intercultural learning. From meaningful conversations and team activities to cultural evenings and moments of self-reflection, participants discovered the importance of taking care of themselves and supporting one another.
