Thank you all so much for praying for us, for our ministry, and especially for Kalep’s back. His back is feeling somewhat better! Every day he has a little more mobility, which is a huge blessing. He still has a long way to go, so please continue to pray for him.

Our Fall Festival was absolutely amazing! We worked right up until the moment we opened, and then so many people came that we weren’t able to take pictures until almost closing time! 😅 We had well over 1,000 people come, according to some estimates!

Almost everyone who came heard about the festival through our Facebook ad, which was such a blessing. We were able to talk with so many people, invite them to church, and begin building relationships with people in our community. Many people told us they want to come back for our next event, and that is exactly what this ministry is about! Building relationships, having conversations, inviting people to church, and showing them the love of Christ.

We are so thankful for everyone from our church who came and served. We truly could not have done it without them! And my parents were absolutely amazing. ❤️ My mom worked the cotton candy and popcorn, while my dad drove the tractor for SIX HOURS, giving children tractor rides. They worked so hard, and we are incredibly thankful for them!

Everyone seemed to have an amazing time, and we were so thankful that there were no complaints. One thing we talked about at church afterward really encouraged us... every person who came received an invitation to our church. We handed out large flyers, and we didn’t see a single one on the ground or in the trash. In past events, we have seen people throw invitations away, so this was really encouraging to us. We are praying that people who are holding onto those invitations that God will use them to draw people to Himself.

We planted a lot of seeds this weekend. We pray that the relationships that were started will continue to grow and flourish, that people will come back to future events, and most importantly, that they will come to church and hear the Gospel.

Thank you for praying for the work here in Romania. Please continue to pray for our family, our church, and the people we are reaching in our community.

❤️ **So thankful for my parents!** ❤️

My parents have spent the past two days helping us get everything ready for our Fall Festival, and I am so grateful for all their hard work! We've been buying supplies, setting up games, and they have helped with so many details to make everything come together. It’s all looking really good, and tomorrow is the BIG DAY! 🍂🎃

We’re thankful that Ethan is finally over his sickness! Kalep’s back is still causing him a lot of pain and difficulties, but thankfully, we’re seeing some slight improvement. Please continue to keep him in your prayers.

We would also appreciate your prayers for our outreach tomorrow! Our Facebook post/ad has received over **300 responses and expressions of interest**! We have no idea yet what that will translate to in actual attendance, but we are excited to see what God will do and are praying for a great turnout and opportunities to connect with families in our community. 🙏

Thank you all for praying for us, encouraging us, and supporting the ministry here in Romania. We’re excited to see how tomorrow goes!

Real life photos...rough, real and raw. 🫣 I am embarrassed to post this, but we need prayer.

You know the saying, “When it rains, it pours”? Well... it's pouring over here. 🌧

We are officially six days away from our church’s Fall Festival, there is still a mountain of work to do around the farm, and this morning Kalep’s back completely gave out.

And honestly, that’s just the latest thing. 😅

This past weekend, our church came together for a big work day to prepare for the festival on October 10th. We painted the park, stacke up around 200 hay bales into three different areas of the farm. They’ll all be moved AGAIN closer to the festival as decorations. 😂 We’re transforming everything into a little piece of an American fall farm... Pumpkins, hay bales, tractor rides, carnival games, and a petting zoo with our animals.

Somewhere in the middle of all of that, we also celebrated our boy turning 13! 🎉❤️

Meanwhile, our winter firewood was delivered. It still needs to be cut, split, stacked, and covered, and we’re working on a little shelter to protect it from the weather. The construction wood delivery was delayed by 1 week.

We also started tilling up a new garden in front of the house to make everything beautiful for fall. That project is currently in the “this is not going according to plan” stage. 😂

Then there’s our white van.

It’s been having electrical issues for what feels like forever. We’ve put FIVE batteries in it, taken it to four mechanics and two different Ford shops, an electrician, still no one can figure out what’s wrong with it. We backed it up to the house to unload groceries…and the battery died.

So Sunday morning came, the van wasn’t going anywhere, and now it is sitting perfectly parked right in front of our house. 🤦‍♀️

We’ve also had sickness work its way through pretty much our entire family. Most everyone is recovering, but Ethan is still sick and seems to be having a harder time getting over whatever bug we’ve had.

Oh, and he’s getting his first tooth at the same time. Because why not? 😂

Oh, and did I mention the water?

Every time we turn the water back on in our bathhouse, it seems like we discover another problem. Leaking sinks. Water squirting out of walls. And currently three or four of our seven toilets are out of service.

Then this week we got a $500 water bill. 😳

Obviously, we knew something was wrong. We started shutting things off and checking the water meter…and it just kept spinning.

So apparently, somewhere on our property, we have a significant underground water leak.

Where?

We have absolutely no idea. 🫣

Our property stretches a LONG way from the road to our house...at least a couple minutes walking, so somewhere along that distance, we apparently have water disappearing underground. And there’s no obvious mud, standing water, or unusually green vegetation giving us any clues.

Just add that one to the list. 😅

And THEN this morning happened.

Kalep bent down to pick up Ethan and his back completely gave out. He went to physical therapy today, and right now they think it may be a pinched nerve. He’ll meet with the doctor tomorrow to hopefully get a clearer idea of what is actually going on.

Of all the weeks for Daddy to lose his strength....this is definitely not the one we would have chosen. ❤️

We still have animal paddocks that need to be set up and hammered into the ground, carnival games under the pavilion that need repairs, hay and decorations to arrange, animals to prepare, firewood everywhere, an unfinished garden, plumbing problems, a mystery underground water leak, a broken-down van…and about a hundred other little things that need to happen before Saturday.

So yes…

When it rains, it pours. 😂

But despite all of that, we’re really excited about what God is doing.

We’ve already had more than 100 people rsvp on our Facebook ad!! This festival is being hosted by our church, and our biggest prayer is that it will be much more than pumpkins, hayrides, animals, and a fun fall day.

We want it to be an opportunity to love our community, build relationships, andinvite them to church.

So if you think about us this week, please pray. ❤️

Pray that God heals Kalep’s back quickly. Pray that Ethan gets completely well. Pray that all these projects somehow come together. Pray that God gives our family and our church the strength and energy we need to get everything ready.

And NEXT week…you can pray that we find that water leak. 😂 One crisis at a time!

But most importantly, pray that God uses this festival to reach people in our community.

Mission life isn’t always easy, but sometimes God gives us beautiful little reminders of why we keep going.

Today we gathered apples from our orchard and flowers from our garden. As I looked at what we had gathered, I was reminded that harvest takes time.

We planted these apple trees four or five years ago. We watered them, cared for them, worked the soil, and waited. And years later we’re finally enjoying their fruit.

It made me think about our ministry here. So much of missionary work is simply planting seeds, watering, working, and waiting.

We share the Gospel, love people, serve our community, and faithfully plant the seeds
BUT ONLY GOD can bring the growth.

Sometimes we don’t get to see the harvest right away. Sometimes we wonder if our work is making a difference. But today, this little basket of apples reminded me that the seeds we plant today may bear fruit years from now.

We are thankful for this small harvest from our own hands, and we are praying even more fervently for a spiritual harvest.

Mission accomplished!

We can finally say that our son has his visa to stay and live in Romania! 🇷🇴❤️

Today is a happy day, and we’re grateful for the little wins along the way. After months of paperwork and waiting, it feels so good to finally have this taken care of. 🙏🏼

A Romanian American Family (who have Orthodox roots in Pitesti) are on their way to Georgia (the country) this week as missionaries!

Some weeks of living overseas are more fun than others… and this was definitely not one of my favorite weeks. 😅

For the past five months, we’ve been working to get our fifth child’s paperwork completed so that he can legally live here in Romania. There has been paperwork, complications, and one unnecessary errand after another. After being told multiple times that everything was finally finished, I found myself making yet another trip into the city to deliver more paperwork.

On the way there, I got pulled over by a policeman. He looked at me and said, “You’re American? Wow! Don’t you just love living in Romania?”

I smiled and said, “Not today.” 😂

Then he continued, “The people are so warm and welcoming, aren’t they?”

I laughed and said, “Sometimes they are. Today is just not one of those warm, welcoming days.”

So I told him a little about my immigration woes, and thankfully, he was only doing a routine paperwork check. Everything was fine, and he let me go.

But honestly, I was already frustrated and not exactly in the mood for another interaction after spending months dealing with immigration paperwork and what has felt like endless red tape.

Add to that Kalep being away visiting his dad, and I’ve been home with all five kids while trying to make unnecessary trips into the city to get paperwork done.

Then yesterday, our landlord called and asked, “Did you guys take down your church sign?”

Nope.

Apparently, the people who rent the floor below our church didn’t like our sign hanging on the railing above their building, so they took it down and threw it away. 🤦‍♀️

It’s just been one of those weeks where living here has felt… hard.

Sometimes being a missionary is beautiful. Sometimes you see God open doors, lives changed, friendships formed, and people coming to know Christ. Those are the days when you remember exactly why you’re here.

And sometimes you’re standing in an immigration office for the fourth time, chasing paperwork that was supposedly finished months ago, while raising five children, dealing with frustration and corruption, and then finding out someone threw away your church sign.

Those days are hard.

But I’m reminding myself that difficulty doesn’t mean God isn’t working. In fact, sometimes the resistance is a reminder that what we’re doing matters.

So we keep going.

We keep loving people.
We keep serving.
We keep preaching the Gospel.
We keep putting up the signs. 😉

And we keep trusting that God will bring something good out of even the frustrating weeks.

Thank you to everyone who prays for us, supports us, and encourages us from afar. Sometimes your prayers are what keep us going on the weeks when living overseas just isn’t very fun. ❤️🇷🇴

And we are thankful Kalep is home to deal with this whole sign stealing situation. Welcome home babe! 🤣🥰

Sometimes missionary life is really fun! 😊

On Saturday, we visited the salt mines with some friends from church and enjoyed the salty air, fun activities, and sweet fellowship together. The kids had a blast exploring and playing. We wrapped up the day with a quick stop back at our little farm.

Guess what ended up being the favorite part for most of the kids… our home. 😅🤪 There’s something special about simple moments, baby animals, getting dirty and a place where people feel welcomed.

We’re so thankful for the community God is building here and for each of you who make this ministry possible through your prayers and support. Thank you for being part of the journey with us! ❤️
