Training Title: ‘Waste Management Planning Capacity Building’ Training
Training Aim: Building Institutional Capacity for Effective Waste Management Planning in the BSB Region
To enhance institutional capacity of local authorities in the BSB to develop and implement effective and sustainable Waste Management Plans (WMPs), through shared expertise, exchange of good practices, and collaborative learning.
Training Structure Overview:
Duration: 5 days (online lectures)
Proposed Modules: 6 Thematic Modules + 1 Study Visit Module
Format: Interactive lectures, group discussions, case studies, virtual / phisical site visits

On 23.10.25 /Thursday/ and 25.10.25 /Saturday/ in the town of Sozopol, the first local trainings were organized and held by Project partner 3 Municipality of Sozopol in implementation of Аctivity 1.4. of the project BSB00027 (Go2Recycling) "Transnational cooperation for sustainable waste management and recycling practices in the Black Sea Basin", funded under the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin 2021-2027 program. The organized events are part of the pilot campaign of the partners in the project for separate collection and delivery of waste. They provide the opportunity for all participants to attend a one-day training on separate collection of waste in the Black Sea Basin (BSB), to improve their knowledge of proper waste separation, to create practices that will make their regions a cleaner and better place to live.
As part of the planned initiatives to provide bins for separate waste collection for households and educational institutions, Project Partner 3 Municipality of Sozopol launched the first of a total of 5 one-day trainings for different target groups. These were aimed at local businesses and non-governmental organizations on the territory of the Municipality.

Uzunköprü municipality is implementing its training for local target groups in the town with teachers, giving information and transfering knowledge to them to be given to the young school children.
