Empowering Youth for the Future: Ethos Organization Galați at the STEPUP Training Course in Austria!

Young people today face an incredibly dynamic and challenging labor market, making the transition from education to employment a critical milestone. To better support them, the Romanian delegation representing the Ethos Organization (Galați) participated in the international training course "STEPUP: PREPARING YOUTH FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER", held in Alland, Austria, from September 5th to 12th, 2026. Romania was proud to be represented by four dedicated teachers from Galați: Șoitu Ionela, Simion Adriana, Marin Liliana - Mariana, and Cristea Lidia.

Hosted by MOMO Austria, this project brought together youth workers from various countries to develop practical tools and non-formal education methods aimed at boosting employability among the younger generation (Gen-Z). Throughout an intense week of collaborative workshops, the participants explored essential themes for youth career development:
Overcoming Employability Gaps: Addressing hard skills, soft skills, network deficits, and building a strategic mindset.
Creating Impactful Portfolios: Mastering techniques for CVs and motivation letters based on the powerful concept: "Don't just claim it, show it!"
Alternative Career Paths: Navigating traditional employment, hybrid remote work, freelancing, and entrepreneurship.
Addressing Barriers: Developing tools to help youth overcome anxiety, parental pressure, and the fear of judgment during job hunts.
Using creative visual tools like "Test Drive for My Future," these educators learned how to guide young people in mapping out their personal interests, skills, and talents.
The core message remains clear: a young person's future begins with their own conscious choices. The team from Ethos Organization returns to Galați equipped with a rich toolkit of digital instruments, fresh methodologies, and inspiring ideas. These resources will be implemented very soon by these teachers in local workshops designed to prepare the youth of Galați for their next professional chapter.

“Green Fraud” Youth Exchange in Salerno, Italy

From 12 to 18 May 2025, young people from Romania, Italy, Portugal, France, and Turkey participated in the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange “Green Fraud”, held in Salerno, Italy.

The project focused on greenwashing—the use of false or misleading environmental claims by companies—and aimed to help young people become more informed and responsible consumers. Through non-formal learning activities, workshops, case studies, debates, theatre, presentations, social media content, and teamwork, participants learned how to critically assess environmental messages and distinguish genuinely sustainable products from deceptive marketing.

The programme also included environmental actions, local awareness campaigns, public-speaking and advocacy activities, green innovation challenges, and intercultural evenings. Participants exchanged ideas, discovered different cultures, and developed practical resources for promoting transparency and responsible consumption.

The youth exchange strengthened their critical-thinking, communication, teamwork, and intercultural competences while encouraging them to become active advocates for genuine environmental responsibility in their communities.

Training Course for Adults within the “Wasteless Tomorrow” Project
From 24 August – 1 September 2024, eight adult learners from Romania participated in Antalya, Turkey, in one of the two training courses organised within the Erasmus+ project “Wasteless Tomorrow”, project code 2023-2-RO01-KA122-ADU000172904. The group mobility activity was hosted by the International Education & Development Academy – CEKDEV. The seven-day programme aimed to develop environmental awareness and provide practical solutions for reducing waste within associations and local communities.
The activities included an introduction to the Zero Waste approach, a self-assessment of environmental awareness, the formation of an environmental committee, and the creation of institutional Zero Waste action plans. Participants also learned how to reduce food waste and correctly dispose of chemical and toxic laboratory waste. They explored the negative consequences of failing to adopt sustainable practices and analysed examples of successful Zero Waste projects.
The programme combined workshops, teamwork, project-based learning, data analysis, problem-solving, and cooperative learning. Participants also visited green areas and took part in waste collection and recycling activities. The training concluded with a review session, institutional action planning, a cultural visit, a feedback questionnaire, and a certificate ceremony.
