Berta, our volunteer from the Activities for Children in Foster Care Homes 4.0 project, is saying goodbye through this blog post.

"It’s been an amazing journey full of memories, learning, and laughter. Thank you to everyone who was part of it and made it special. I’ve grown a lot during this time and I’ll take these experiences with me wherever I go. Wishing you all the best and hoping our paths cross again someday. Thank you for reading my writing :)"

Today our volunteer Amaiur shares with us part of her latest blog post: "Today I’m sharing a small piece of my heart as I close this incredible chapter of my life. After 9 intense and unforgettable months, my journey with the Activities for Children in Foster Care Homes 4.0 project comes to an end.
It hasn’t always been easy, there were challenges, tears, and tough moments, but even more laughter, growth, and meaningful memories. The people I’ve met, my teammates, and especially the children have made this experience truly life-changing.
Now it’s time to go home, with a full heart, countless stories, and a stronger version of myself. Saying goodbye is never easy… but I know this is not the end, just a new beginning.
Thank you to everyone who was part of this adventure 🤍" https://esccare2travel.wordpress.com/2026/06/02/this-is-my-last-farewell/

Volunteering in an ESC project🔥🌸 benefits all parties involved.
The volunteers have the possibility to get to know a new country and culture through real life experience🌐🫶🏻. Also, the children involved in the activities learn English in a fun and non-formal way and the parents get help after school and during the holidays.
Our project, the Summer Camps🌷🌟, goes beyond the traditional classroom, offering children the chance to learn through play, discover new cultures , learn about digitalization.📲

This is Bella 🍃, an ESC volunteer from Germany 🇩🇪, who is working in the project “Summer Camps in Villages“ 🏡☀️, 2025-1-RO01-ESC51-VTJ-000347129.

“Hi, my name is Bella, I’m 19 years old and I come from Germany. I love doing activities that include sports, especially bouldering, yoga or going for a walk/hike in a beautiful landscape. I also enjoy relaxing with a book, a good coffee and ideally some chocolate. Whenever I can, I meet with my friends to play some board games or do other activities together.

After I graduated from high school about one year ago, I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and gain new experiences that help me define who I want to be. That is why I came to Romania, to meet people from different cultural backgrounds, as well as working with children, which hopefully teaches me to be more patient, outgoing and skillful at problem solving.

I, as one of four volunteers and some short term helpers, will be working in Summer Camps here in Miercurea Ciuc/Csíkszereda and nearby villages. We will try to teach the children English in a fun, non-formal way, while also introducing them to the main topic of digitalization. I’m really looking forward to taking on different challenges in this experience.”

This is Lea, an ESC volunteer from Germany, who is working in the project “Summer Camps in Villages“

Hi everyone! My name is Lea, I’m 28 years old and originally from Berlin. Last year, I graduated from university with a degree in law.
I love travelling, staying active, and spending time outdoors — especially through yoga, running, hiking, and pilates. I also enjoy being around friends, discovering new places, and creating meaningful memories.
Participating in an ESC Volunteering Program is a very exciting opportunity for me, as I hope to gain hands-on experience in social care and work with children. This project means a lot to me because it allows me not only to contribute to the community, but also to get to know the Hungarian culture and grow through new experiences.
I’m really looking forward to stepping out of my comfort zone, learning new things, and meeting amazing people along the way. And of course, I can’t wait to explore the beautiful Harghita region, go hiking, and visit nearby cities in my free time.
I’m very excited to start this new adventure!

“Hiiii everyone!
My name is Szidi, I’m 21 years old. I live in Miercurea- Ciuc.
I am a responsible, friendly, and motivated person who enjoys working with others and creating a positive environment. I am graduating from university this year, and during my studies I completed a pedagogy module of English and Romanian languages, which helped me develop skills related to working with and understanding children. I would like to volunteer in a children’s summer camp because I enjoy spending time with children and supporting their learning and personal development. I believe this experience would allow me to apply my knowledge while also gaining valuable practical experience. I am excited to contribute to creating a fun, safe, and supportive environment for the children.
I’m excited to start my journey of summer camps!”

Helloo, guys!🐈‍⬛
My name is Medeia, I’m 19 years old. I was born in Ukraine🇺🇦, but moved to Poland🇵🇱 to study there when I was 15 years old. I spent most of my life looking for one job that I could do to the rest of my life🙉. Tried a lot of different courses and learning programs, from programming to psychology. That’s actually the reason why I couldn’t find one field to study in university. Before arriving in Romania I used to do short-term jobs. Right now I study in online writing academy📝 and trying to focus more on my writing skills. I hope this volunteering experience will bring me a lot of inspiration and happy memories😍.

I accepted this volunteering projects because I was thrilled to work with kids while living in different country😻. The one I’ve never been before. I’m super excited about this opportunity: learning culture through real life experience, learning the Hungarian language by speaking with kids.

I’m happy to share my life experience with kids🫂 and introduce them to both Polish and Ukrainian culture. Teach English through creative activities and active games. All this while living, exploring and expanding my horizons.

I’m thankful for this opportunity and can’t wait to start the project!🦋
