The summer camps in the garden continue strongly with lots of volunteers and children participating. The cold mornings and hot afternoons fly by with fun and creativity. 🍃☀️💚
Most popular games include drawing Insta pages, dodgeball and definitely gagaball! ✍️🏐 But if it is pens flying over papers or balls through the air, the children still practice their English by explaining and translating the game‘s rules or telling stories in the breaks. 🗣️💬

🌞 Summer camp in Csíkszentsimon! 🇷🇴

Another week of our summer camps brought lots of energy, creativity and new connections to Csíkszentsimon! 💛

Our volunteers spent the week creating activities where children could learn, play and work together — from team challenges and creative tasks to outdoor games, football and activities that encouraged communication, cooperation and imagination. 🎨⚽️🧩

This week was also special thanks to a group of Girl Guides from the UK, who joined us for an intercultural exchange. 🇬🇧🤝🇷🇴 Together with our volunteers and the children, they shared games, ideas and experiences, creating new friendships across cultures.

A big thank you to all the children, volunteers and guests who made this week so lively and memorable! 💛

We’re already looking forward to the next camp! 🌻

🌞🏕️ Summer Camp Adventures in Villages! 🌍💙

What an amazing time we’ve had bringing our English summer camps to Csíkbánkfalva and Csíkszentkirály! 🇬🇧✨

Over the course of the days, the children took part in a wide variety of fun games, creative activities, team challenges, and outdoor adventures while practicing their English with our wonderful international volunteers. Every activity gave them the chance to learn new words, build confidence in speaking English, make new friends, and create unforgettable summer memories.

From energetic group games and laughter-filled challenges to arts and crafts and exciting teamwork activities, each village was filled with smiles, curiosity, and positive energy. It has been a joy to see the children encourage one another, step out of their comfort zones, and communicate in English in such a natural and enjoyable way.

A huge thank you to all the children for their enthusiasm, to the parents for their trust, to our local partners for welcoming us, and especially to our incredible volunteers, whose dedication, creativity, and kindness made every camp truly special. ❤️

We are so grateful to have shared these wonderful experiences with all of you, and we hope to see you again at our future activities!

🌍 Egy csöppnyi Románia – A magyar és román hagyományok összehasonlítása 🇷🇴🇭🇺

Mennyit tudunk valójában a mellettünk élő emberek hagyományairól?

Szeretettel várunk egy különleges interkulturális estre, ahol együtt fedezzük fel a magyar és a román hagyományok hasonlóságait és különbségeit történeteken, szokásokon, zenén, táncon, népviseleten és gasztronómián keresztül.

🌍 A Drop of Romania – Comparing Hungarian and Romanian Traditions 🇷🇴🇭🇺

How much do we really know about the traditions of the people living beside us?

Join us for a unique intercultural evening where we’ll discover the similarities and differences between Hungarian and Romanian traditions through stories, customs, music, dance, clothing, and gastronomy.

The first two weeks of our C2T Summer Camps have flown by, and what an incredible start they’ve been! 💛☀️

Over the past weeks, we had the pleasure of welcoming so many wonderful children who filled each day with energy, curiosity, and laughter. Together with our amazing volunteers, we spent our days playing games, creating colourful bracelets, painting with watercolours, learning fun choreographies, competing in Uno Race and Bingo, and enjoying plenty of outdoor activities under the summer sun. 🎨🪩⚽

One of the most rewarding parts of the camps has been watching the children grow more confident in using English. Through games, songs, teamwork, and everyday conversations, they practiced the language in a fun and natural environment while making new friendships and unforgettable memories.

We even learned Sunny by Boney M. as the perfect soundtrack to the beautiful weather that accompanied us throughout the camps! 🌞🎶

None of this would have been possible without our incredible volunteers, whose creativity, enthusiasm, and dedication made every day special. Thank you to all for bringing so much positive energy to the children.

As volunteers, these weeks reminded us why we love what we do. Every smile, every new word learned, every bracelet made, and every shared laugh made this experience truly meaningful.

We can’t wait to see what the next weeks have in store. Thank you to all the children and parents for being part of this wonderful journey with us! 💙✨

This week, our volunteers Medeia, Bella, Szidi, and Lea focused on catching up with their office tasks after the busy weeks of activities. 📚💻

They worked on important projects such as updating their volunteer booklets and completing the ABC of Volunteering, reflecting on their experiences and everything they have learned throughout their ESC journey.

Lea and Szidi also spent part of the week preparing for their upcoming Intercultural Night, where they will share their country’s traditions, culture, and cuisine with the local community. 🌍✨

Of course, there was also time to recharge! During their breaks, the volunteers explored the local market, grabbed a coffee together, and cooled off with some delicious ice cream while enjoying each other’s company. ☕🍦

Even office days are an important part of volunteering—they provide time to reflect, organize, and prepare exciting activities for the community. Great work, everyone! 💙

On the 27th of July, Bella‘s Intercultural night took place. She comes from Germany and talked about veganism and her experience living as a vegan. It was the first time that this event was hosted by Kultera instead of the library. The café created a cozy and homely atmosphere. Everyone listened intently to the presentation and participated in the implemented quizzes. In the end, the visitors enjoyed some cookie-balls made mainly of chocolate and coconut 😊🍪🍫

Bella‘s Intercultural night, which took place on the 27th of July, was a success! She presented about veganism and her experience with this lifestyle in Germany. The visitors had fun participating in the quizzes of the presentation and tried the vegan cookies Bella prepared for them.
