My first impressions from volunteering in Balș, Romania 🇷🇴
Since arriving in Balș, I’ve felt a kind of warmth that’s hard to put into words. From day one, people have been incredibly kind, open, and genuinely welcoming. There’s a natural friendliness here — the kind that makes you feel comfortable even in a completely new place.
What has impressed me the most is the children. They are not only cheerful and full of energy, but also surprisingly mature in the way they think. Many of them show empathy and awareness far beyond their age. They understand things quickly, express themselves openly, and connect with you in a very real way. Spending time with them makes this experience even more meaningful.
The environment here adds to everything. The air feels fresh, the surroundings are calm, and there’s a quiet beauty in everyday life that helps you slow down and appreciate the moment. It’s one of those places where you can truly clear your mind and feel at peace.
For me, this volunteering experience is not just about contributing — it’s also about learning, growing, and seeing the world from a different perspective. Every day brings something new, something that makes you think, reflect, and become a better version of yourself.
✨ For me, this is more than just volunteering. It’s a journey I’ll carry with me for a long time.
