The association carries as its guiding purpose the promotion and defense of the academic, social and cultural rights and interests of Romanian or foreign students, within or outside the country, so as to facilitate their participation in the social, economic and cultural life in their respective host and home countries. Unlike most student organizations, which only marginally implicate their stude
nt communities and partners in their operation and decision-making, the ISA is constituted as a platform providing the conditions for, and encouraging, the active participation as members of ALL students it assists, and has an inclusionary outlook towards its partners, collaborators, donors and supporters. This in turn brings sustainability and continuity to its efforts and an atmosphere of mutuality and respect, and supports the development of solid partnerships. Further setting the International Students Association apart from its existing homonymous organizations is its awareness of the social and business environment in which its members and partners operate, which translates into an active encouragement of mutually beneficial exchanges among members and partners, with careful consideration for the academic, cultural and social milieu.
