🇪🇺 Through 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞, Europe is investing in new approaches to strengthen democratic resilience and address some of the challenges increasingly affecting our societies: polarization, disinformation and extremism. Under 𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐙𝐎𝐍-𝐂𝐋𝟐-𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓-𝟎𝟏-𝐃𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐂𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐘-𝟎𝟓, only three projects were selected: 𝐅𝐄𝐌𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐌 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐄𝐄𝐏 𝐃𝐈𝐀𝐋𝐎𝐆𝐔𝐄.

🤝 The 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐳 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 (𝐀𝐈𝐏𝐆) is thrilled to contribute to this European effort through 𝐃𝐄𝐄𝐏 𝐃𝐈𝐀𝐋𝐎𝐆𝐔𝐄, together with 13 partners and under the leadership of 𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲.

🌐 𝐃𝐄𝐄𝐏 𝐃𝐈𝐀𝐋𝐎𝐆𝐔𝐄 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 at the heart of strengthening democratic resilience. Over the next three years, the project will explore how dialogue can help build resilience, create space for different perspectives, and strengthen the capacity of young people and communities to engage constructively across divides.

🔎 For AIPG, this work connects closely with our 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡. Democratic resilience depends on our ability to recognize and address emerging risks early, while strengthening the institutions, communities, and relationships that help societies navigate polarization and disagreement without exclusion or violence.

,,Aș vrea să îi cer lui Rahul iertare, dar nu pot să îi cer nimic…”

A venit în România cu speranța unei vieți mai bune pentru familia lui. Dar între visul unei noi vieți și realitatea de aici se află munca, frica, prejudecata și dorința de a aparține. ”Aici. Acolo. Nicăieri.” este povestea unuia dintre cei peste 160.000 de mii de muncitori migranți care vin în România în căutarea unui viitor mai bun, poveste spusă chiar de ei.

Spectacolul nostru este și despre noi, cei care îi privim. Vei simți dorul lor, fragilitatea, forța, visul care îi poartă peste granițe, dar și obstacolele de care se lovesc. Vei fi martor al intimității lor corporale, culturale, emoționale, acolo unde gesturile devin mărturii ale unei vieți trăite între „acasă” și „nicăieri”.

Have you worked or are you currently working in Romania? Your experience matters.

We are conducting a research study on the experiences of migrant workers in Romania, with a particular focus on mental health and well-being, working and living conditions, discrimination, access to services, social support, and the ways people cope with the challenges of migration and work.

📝 What does participation involve?
You will be asked to complete a questionnaire about:

your migration and personal background;
employment and living conditions;
experiences in Romania;
mental health and well-being;
access to healthcare and other services;
social support and discrimination;
strategies for coping with challenges.

⏱️ The questionnaire takes approximately 15 minutes.

The CASTLE Centre and Babeș-Bolyai University are looking for members of the Bangladeshi community in Romania to join the CASTLE2 project:

“Caring for the Vulnerable: Transnational Social Protection of Bangladeshi Migrants’ Families in the EU”

We are seeking individuals who:
✅ Are originally from Bangladesh and currently living in Romania;
✅ Speak English sufficiently to participate in online discussions and training sessions;
✅ Have a family member in Bangladesh who is also willing to participate and has at least basic English language skills;
✅ Are interested in supporting research activities, even if they have no previous research experience.

No prior research experience is required. Training and guidance will be provided by the project team.

📅 Training Sessions (online)

Participants can choose one of the following dates:

Session 1
11 June 2026
* Romania: 16:00
* Bangladesh: 19:00

Session 2
14 June 2026
* Romania: 15:00
* Bangladesh: 18:00

🎯 What will participants do?

Participate in an online training session;
Help identify and recruit 4–5 research participants from Romania and Bangladesh;
Provide feedback on research findings during two consultation rounds;
Contribute to a participatory research process exploring the experiences of transnational Bangladeshi families.

🎁 Compensation

Participants and their participating family members may receive vouchers for their involvement in different project activities:

✅ Training participation – €50 voucher ×2
✅ Recruitment of respondents – €50 voucher ×2
✅ Feedback on first-round findings – €50 voucher ×2
✅ Feedback on second-round findings – €50 voucher ×2

💰 Total: up to €200 per co-researcher (€400 per co-researcher-family pair)

⚠️ Vouchers can only be redeemed in Romania.

We are particularly interested in reaching people from different regions of Romania and diverse social and professional backgrounds.

Meet Yuliia Kisielova, one of our ReMap-UNHCR research scholarship recipients.

Based in Cluj-Napoca, Yuliia brings a strong background in project coordination and communication management to her work. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Culturology from Lviv National University of Ivan Franko and is currently pursuing her Master’s in International Development at Babeș-Bolyai University. Crucially, her academic focus is backed by practical, real-world experience supporting Ukrainian refugee integration initiatives in Romania.

Yuliia’s work directly aligns with the mission of the scholarship program, to produce evidence-based research that improves refugee protection and local integration.

We are thrilled to support her work and look forward to sharing her research findings later this year!
