Big Love Autumn Update - http://eepurl.com/jmx8xg Imagine a long table, sat around it are all sorts of people: individuals, thinkers and doers, philanthropists and business leaders, the young and the old, the rich and the poor, families of all shapes and sizes, people with a faith and people with none. Every one sat at this table has a simple menu - to challenge the injustice of poverty, to care for the poorest and most vulnerable people, to love the widow and orphan, to value the displaced refugee and to gather around this table to seek to improve opportunities for those lacking that hope, to be a voice, a friend and advocate for those needing the most support and together do something about it....

This is Big Love.

A look inside the polytunnels at the Farm. 🍅🥒🍈

As well as the cows, the team grows tomatoes, cucumbers and melons here. The veg, along with cheese made on the farm, is sold in local markets and supermarkets.

All the profit goes back into our work with kids, families and communities in Romania and the UK.

A few days in Romania, and a lot to be thankful for. ❤️

We’ve spent time on the farm, kid centres, celebrated 25 years of Outstretched Hands, caught up with dear friends and met some lovely new people along the way.

Thank you to everyone who supports our work. It’s making an impact. ❤️

A new tractor on the farm, and another on its way. We’re still taking that in. 🚜❤️

Thank you to everyone who gave, shared our appeal, encouraged us or simply felt part of it.

Our hope has always been that the farm will help support more children’s centres here in Romania, and more of our work with kids, families and communities back in the UK.

Today we head back to Romania with another team to celebrate 25 years of Outstretched Hands of Romania and to celebrate Brad and Nora Hayes, who began it all.

We’re looking forward to gathering with friends from the US and other parts of Europe to celebrate all that’s taken place over that time.

Partnering with the Outstretched Hands team is one of Big Love’s greatest joys.

Last week, our team visited the new well in Luica, that’s almost good to go! It will provide free access to clean water for the whole community.

A simple, practical project that will make a difference to families every day. Thank you to everyone who helped make it possible.

Our team flies home from Romania today after a few special days spent alongside our friends at Outstretched Hands.

One of the highlights was our first trauma training workshop, delivered by the brilliant Kian Tracey from Belsteads Care Home. The workshop gave children’s centre leaders and staff practical tools to help them support children who have lived through trauma.

This is something we hope will grow, helping people who walk alongside these children every day feel better equipped and supported themselves.

A huge thank you to Peter Adams, who led the team with such care throughout the trip and the Belsteads team who joined us.

And, as always, thank you to our dear friends Outstretched Hands of Romania. Working closely with people we love remains one of our greatest joys.

It’s been a haircutting, football training, donut eating, kids crafts kind of day! Tonight one of our team will be doing a workshop with centre leaders on supporting children walking through trauma. Massive thanks to the Belsteads Care staff for being part of the journey with us. ❤️

And our first team of the new academic year is off to Romania. 🇷🇴

This week, they’ll serve alongside our family at Outstretched Hands of Romania, running activities at the children’s centres, visiting the new water well in Luica, and seeing the farm in action.

On Thursday, two more team members will join them to deliver trauma training, equipping centre staff to walk gently and wisely alongside children who have been through difficult experiences.
