Asociatia isi desfasoara activitatea in colaborare cu autoritati ale administratiei publice centrale si locale, institutii, agenti economici, ONG-uri nationale si internationale. “The Mountain Community Iezer Muscel” Association is a non-governmental organization founded in 2008 on the initiative of several municipalities from the mountain area of Muscel – Arges County. It was founded through the
collaboration of the public authorities and civil society to develop in the fields of common interest, the cooperation (economical, scientific, cultural, social etc) using modern forms of cooperation specific to the actual state of development. In spite of being a new association “The Mountain Community Iezer Muscel” consists of 25 municipalities and mayors who are interested in accomplish common objectives with other European countries through different EU programmes. The main objective of this association is to elaborate, promote and implement programmes and projects of economic, social and cultural development in the mountain areas and not only, improving the local economic potential, making international exchanges of ideas, information and know-how, promoting ecological agriculture and biotechnology and preserving natural monuments and the most important is creating links between citizens from different countries in Europe. Our goal is to establish a network between municipalities from Romania and other European countries and in this framework we want to elaborate common projects to create a bound with great benefits for everyone. The association works closely with authorities of public administration, institutions, stakeholders, national and international NGOs. It has developed several projects within the programme Europe for Citizens as partner and also as applicant. We are twinned with several regions from:

5. Downpatrick- Northen Ireland
6. Listowel – Republic of Ireland
The Mountain Community Iezer Muscel has in view to develop new links with new twinning partners and strengthen the relationship between existing twinning partners and would like town twinning to promote cooperation in the fields of culture, education, tourism, economy and local administration, language and cultural exchanges, experiences and visits within the Europe for Citizens Programme and other EU programmes.
