The agenda was set for 75 minutes. The conversations could have easily lasted three hours.
At the recent CEO Breakfast hosted by H.E. Brendan Ward, Ambassador of Ambasada Irlandei Bucureşti / Irish Embassy Bucharest, at the Residence, leaders from banking, agriculture, heavy industry and technology gathered around the same table to discuss a challenge that affects every sector today: how do we digitalize traditional industries while keeping them secure, ensuring safer operations across the entire value chain?
What started as a round of introductions quickly turned into something much more valuable.
Many of the participants were meeting for the first time. Different industries, different perspectives, different challenges yet a shared understanding that the future belongs to those who can successfully navigate both the digital and sustainability transitions.
The discussion focused on the first strategic pillar of our dialogue series: The Twin Transition and the importance of building a secure digital bridge between traditional sectors and technology-driven businesses.
One conclusion became clear: meaningful cross-industry conversations are no longer a luxury, they are a necessity.
The fact that nobody seemed ready to leave when the session ended was perhaps the strongest indicator of the value created around the table.
This event, organized by Romania Ireland Business Association - RIBA in partnership with Enterprise Ireland, marks the beginning of a broader series of strategic dialogues supporting Ireland's upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
