Parent Training!

Child safety online is non-negotiable.

A new Eurobarometer survey shows that too much screen time and social media can affect young people's health and wellbeing.

📱 Young people spend an average of 4.5 hours online on school days and 6.1 hours at weekends.
⚠️ 14% of teenagers spend more than 10 hours a day on screens.
💬 Nearly 1 in 3 say social media makes them feel stressed, sad or left out.
🛑 1 in 4 have seen harmful content online, including hate speech, pressure about appearance, or violent content.
🩺 9 in 10 teenagers report at least one health issue linked to screen use, such as tired eyes, headaches or trouble concentrating.

Social media can help people stay connected and informed. But these findings show that more needs to be done to protect young people online.

We are is taking action through stronger online safety rules, greater protection and assistance for minors, the new EU Age Verification App, better measures against cyberbullying, and more financial support for mental health.

Because every child deserves to be safe online.

✨ EP2 is coming to an end… but its impact continues

After months of collaboration, learning and shared experiences, the EP2 project (Efficient Parenting in Times of Permacrisis) is reaching its final stage. Throughout this journey, we have created practical resources, training materials and tools to support parents, caregivers and families in challenging times — and these resources will continue beyond the project.

Because EP2 does not end here:
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Support for families remains essential
💬 Parenting skills and emotional wellbeing still matter
🌍 The commitment to inclusive, resilient and supportive parenting continues

This document, prepared with support from Eurochild and Learning for Wellbeing Foundation, is the result of several months of commitment and collaboration among Council members, both in person and online & consultation with 200 children.

🌟 This was our Multiplier Event in Romania 🌟
 
On 26 November, we held a meeting full of dialogue, learning, and community, where professionals, families, and social agents came together to explore how to strengthen positive parenting in times of uncertainty.
 
Throughout the session, participants had the opportunity to discover the resources of the Efficient Parenting in Times of Permacrisis (EP2) project, explore our digital platform, and share experiences about resilience, family well-being, and support for those who accompany children and adolescents.

The EU Gender Equality Index 2025 shows how far we still have to go — women working 15½ months to earn what men make in one year, and full equality still 50 years away.

This year’s Index score: 63.4/100. The gap is real, but so is the momentum for change - a 10.5 increase since 2010.

But despite progress:

🔹 Women earn just 77% of men’s annual pay
🔹 Big wins in economic decision-making, but setbacks in health & education
🔹 31% of women have faced violence—urgent action is needed
