FAREWELL 👑 💔
Before we say our final farewells this evening, we would like to share some of the best quotes made by HRH Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as a tribute to her legendary wit and sense of humour:
*During a performance by The Queen's Piper, the wind lifted his kilt as he played for the her, prompting Her Majesty to ask whether it was a 'particularly cold morning'👀😂
*While visiting New Zealand in 1986, the Queen was egged by two anti-monarchy protestors splattering yolk splattering onto Her Majesty's pink dress. She quipped: "I myself prefer my New Zealand eggs for breakfast."
*Her Majesty - in her own words describing the very obvious explanation for her vibrant wardrobe: "If I wore beige, nobody would know who I am."
*Whilst planning the skit for the parachute James Bond entrance to the 2012 London Olympics, Her Majesty was asked if she'd like a speaking part, to which she responded 'Of course I must say something. After all, he is coming to rescue me.'
*When a group of American tourists crossed her path whilst walking near her Balmoral estate, not recognising Her Majesty they asked whether she'd ever met the Queen. The incognito monarch, who was dressed again in a headscarf, simply gestured to her protection officer and replied, "No, but he has."
*Her Majesty had to give an es**rt commander a gentle reminder of who she was during a state visit. As he was protectively blocking the crowd's view of the royal carriage during a public appearance, the Queen pointed out: "Actually, Captain, I think it's me they've come to see."
*In an argument with the queen mother, the elder royal said to her daughter “Who do you think you are?” To which Queen Elizabeth replied: “The queen, mummy, the queen."
*When a lady's mobile phone rang during a formal meeting, Her Majesty said 'You'd better answer that. It could be someone important'
And finally, a serious quote uttered by Her Majesty which is poignant today - "Grief is the price we pay for love"
🙏 Rest in Peace Your Majesty 💫
