🌏 Today, we travelled to the Philippines and returned with fresh ideas, new connections, and another visa in our International Coaching Passport!
On 6 October, Destination 02 of this initiative created by Romania Chapter of ICF brought us together with Tina Sioson, ACC, President of The Philippines Chapter of ICF, for “Catalyzing Coaches’ Financial Growth.” Together, we explored how community, shared leadership, and partnerships can help coaches build financially sustainable practices.
Tina introduced us to ”kapwa”, a Filipino concept expressing shared humanity and connection. This perspective shapes the chapter’s ambition to weave coaching into everyday community life, influencing how people lead, collaborate, and support one another.
We discovered how this vision translates into action through Coaches’ Sanctuary, a safe space for sharing questions and challenges, and Coffee Connect, which brings coaches together in person. Both begin with an essential commitment: listening to members and understanding their needs.
🤝 Shared leadership turns trust into opportunities to contribute. Members lead initiatives beyond formal board roles, while the leadership team welcomes different perspectives and encourages constructive dialogue.
Partnerships with academia, the private sector, and public institutions have also helped the chapter develop opportunities for coaches.
✨ What are we taking into our own practice?
🔹 Develop business skills alongside coaching competencies. A sustainable practice needs clear goals, strategic direction, and an understanding of its market.
🔹 Connect our value to clients’ needs. Listen to their challenges and communicate the benefits coaching can bring.
🔹 Own our professional voice. Our experience, culture, and values shape how we work and what we offer.
🔹 Explore additional revenue streams. Facilitation, mentoring, consulting, and other relevant skills can broaden our service portfolios.
🔹 Create opportunities through consistent action. Start conversations, follow up, ask for referrals, and stay open to partnerships and new communities.
Tina also left us with three questions: What other strengths can we bring into our services? How can we build broader networks? How do we remain relevant and ready for the future in the age of AI?
💙 Participants added their own experiences and perspectives, making this a lively exchange across coaching communities. This is the spirit of International Coaching Passport: Romania Chapter of ICF opens a space where cultures meet, ideas travel, and professional relationships grow across borders.
🛂 The Philippines visa has now been revealed! Participants can add it to their passports as a reminder of a conversation about growing our profession.
🌍 Next destination: Ukraine, on 3 November. If you missed our first stops, join the next one and start collecting your own international perspectives!
