Founded in 2012, the Art-Activ Association is a nongovernmental organization whose mission is to provide educational and cultural programs and services to meet community’s needs, in order to increase the access and participation of Roma citizens to the socio-cultural life, ensuring the right of equal opportunities, promotion and support of a multicultural society and of the intercultural dialogue.
Art Activ’s goal is to create educational alternatives in order to activate the personal resources with the purpose of increasing the self-esteem and a successful integration into the professional activity. The Association acts as a moral and material basis for the support and development of all elements, activities and bearings which assert the cultural and educational acts: information, awareness rising, education, formation, management, training, creation, organization, production, promotion and distribution, impresario, itineraries, lobby, image, communication and PR (public relations) in the field of cultural and educational activities. The Art-Activ Association was established as a structure to support, develop and valorize all components of a cultural or educational act, the programs and projects of entities (individuals and entrepreneurs, public or private entities) working in the field of culture and education, at the level of local communities, but also nationally and internationally. The main activities of Art-Activ Association include:
- the elaboration and promotion of policies,
- programs and development strategies in the sphere of culture and education focusing on the Roma minority;
- creation, development, implementation and promotion of cultural and educational programs addressed to marginalized groups or to groups at risk of social exclusion, focusing on the Roma minority;
- integration of disadvantaged children and youngsters, including those coming from foster homes through cultural and educational activities;
- conservation, research, protection, transfer, promotion and valorizing the culture and the immaterial traditional heritage of the Roma minority.
