The fixed date of the Global Surveyors’ Day is the 21 March each year. In 2026 this date falls on a Saturday. The annual online Celebratory Event to mark the occasion and unveil the 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 will instead be held one day before.
The 2026 Celebratory Event will be hosted by our friends and colleagues from the 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 (𝐒𝐀𝐆𝐈) and the 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐲 (𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐋𝐄), currently leading the Forum of Regional Bodies (FoRB).
The event will also feature addresses from FIG President Diane Dumashie FRICS, CASLE President Prof Charisse Griffith-Charles FRICS, a panel discussion featuring Tim Burch (NSPS – USA), Peter Newmarch (SAGI – South Africa), Jean-Yves Pirlot (CLGE – Europe) and James Kavanagh (RICS/CASLE – UK) focused on ‘The Vital Role of Local and Regional Organisations in Surveying’ and the unveiling of the 2026 Surveyor of the Year (Irene Barclay UK was the 2025 winner), and an update on 𝐅𝐈𝐆 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧, 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚.
