The Initiative Group Alpbach Romania (IGAR) was founded in 2013, by a group of students and young professionals to promote the European Forum Alpbach (EFA) in Romania. IGAR’s main objectives are:
• To promote EFA’s values and principles in Romania
• To grant scholarships to young Romanians to participate at the EFA and meet outstanding personalities from across the world.
• To encourage cooperatio

n at an educational level between Romania and other European countries.
• To inform students and graduates about opportunities of professional development in an international framework.
• To promote and encourage dialogue among young people on topics of European relevance.

𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿 Enery 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁.
No conference room, no slides. Just nature, movement, and honest conversation. 🌿
The theme? 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘆.

And because some conversations are better had outside, we took it literally into Delta Văcărești natural park, despite the rain.

We welcomed young professionals from different backgrounds, but who all share a common interest in energy, bringing together participants from the Forum Alpbach Network - Club Alpbach Macedonia, students from the University of Bucharest, members of Energy Leaders Romania, and the team of Romania.

Together with our guest speakers Nadia Maki, Dobre Andrei, Sabina Mihailescu and Sturza Ion we explored:

🤖 Human creativity in an AI-driven world
⚙️ Leadership, vision & the systems check

𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 & 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 – 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗔𝗹𝗽𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗵 💬 ⛰️

Last week, we brought together over 30 inspiring and diverse participants for an evening dedicated to discovering the European Forum Alpbach and the opportunities it offers to young changemakers.

With the scholarship application period now officially open, the event created a space to share insights about the Forum, the experience it offers, and how young Romanians can apply for a scholarship and become part of the Alpbach community. 🌍

We were delighted to welcome guests not only from 🇷🇴 Bucharest, but also partners and friends from Brașov, 🇧🇬Sofia, 🇲🇩 Chișinău, 🇮🇹 Bolzano, and 🇦🇹Vienna, alongside representatives from the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Romania and the Embassy of Denmark in Romania 🇩🇰. For some participants, it was their first time hearing about the Forum, while others were already part of the wider Alpbach network. 🌐 🤝

The evening offered the perfect opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and explore ways to further strengthen European cooperation and shared values.👥 💡

We are grateful to the Austrian Embassy Bucharest for hosting the event and for their continuous support, as well as to BCR and Enery Romania for supporting scholarship opportunities for the next generation of European changemakers. 🙌

We look forward to welcoming this year’s scholarship holders who will bring their ideas, curiosity, and energy to the European Forum Alpbach and contribute to . 🇪🇺⚡️🔋
