New school, new classmates and already some very important conversations. 💬
On Monday, 28 September, our Vol4Refugees team visited class 9E at “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical College in Botoșani for the Gender Equality in Everyday Life workshop.
As the students had only recently started high school, we were curious to hear how they see gender equality, stereotypes and unfair treatment. They joined the activities with openness, shared their opinions and were willing to discuss different perspectives.
Through interactive exercises, group discussions, real-life case studies and a Kahoot quiz, we explored how gender stereotypes can appear in social media, relationships, work and everyday situations. Some examples also looked at the experiences of Ukrainians and refugees, helping students understand how gender discrimination can overlap with prejudice based on nationality, language or refugee status.
It was our first visit to this school, and class 9E gave us a warm welcome and many interesting ideas to reflect on. Thank you to the students and teachers for joining the conversation! 💙
This activity was part of the Vol4Refugees project, co-funded by the European Union through the European Solidarity Corps.
