Asociația Turism Alternativ

Educăm și dezvoltăm sănătos domeniul turismului din România.

EN: The Alternative Tourism Association was established in the month of October of 2015 by a part of the members from the Arad Free Tours team. The Association’s purpose is to promote and develop touristic activities, especially alternative tourism, simultaneously encouraging the preservation of the natural, historical and cultural heritage. We also set ourselves to create an interaction between the tourism sector and the social and environmental factors. By alternative tourism we grasp any kind of tourism which leads to a harmonious cohabitation between the local population and their guests, thereby contributing towards protecting the cultural, historical and natural heritage located in the visited area. Thus, the interest and activity areas of the association are : the alternative tourism, tourism, environmental protection, history, geography, culture, architecture and sport. We intend to implement in Arad international projects seeking to promote the city’s alternative tourism opportunities but also projects residing in experience exchanges between the young people of Arad and the European youth. RO: Am pornit în 2013 proiectul Arad Free Tours și, văzând că ideea a fost primită atât de bine de către arădeni și turiști deopotrivă, dar și văzând că în continuare, turismul se află într-un con de umbră în societatea noastră, iar odată cu dezvoltarea rapidă a tehnologiei informaţiei, cu libera circulaţie a persoanelor în spaţiul european dar şi cu uşurinţa cu care se poate călători acum oriunde pe mapamond, au apărut o mulţime de alternative la turismul clasic, care fac acesibil călătoritul unui număr tot mai mare de turiști, am decis să ne lărgim orizontul în care activăm şi să promovăm aceste modalităţi noi de a călători pentru a face turismul accesibil tuturor şi odată cu aceasta pentru a sparge barierele culturale, istorice şi financiare din sociatate. Așa a luat naștere Asociația Turism Alternativ, o asociație apolitică, de interes general, independentă și destinată în special tinerilor. Ne propunem ca împreună să concepem, să realizăm, promovăm și desfășurăm proiecte de educație formală și nonformală, studii, cercetări și sondaje de opinie în domeniul turismului și în special al celui alternativ. De asemenea, avem ca obiectiv realizarea de proiecte comune cu alte asociații din domeniu, programe în colaborare cu acestea, dar și cu mediul educaţional, instituții de cultură și alte instituții guvernamentale sau non-guvernamentale. Unul dintre cele mai mari – ca amploare – scopuri ale noastre este oferirea de burse de studiu pentru tinerii cu potențial și facilitarea accesului acestora la programe de studiu – fie el formal sau nonformal, în România și străinătate dar şi facilitarea activităţilor de turism pentru persoanele cu dizabilităţi.

Day 7 of our Erasmus+ journey! 🌍✨

Our final official day was a powerful mix of looking back, planning ahead, and celebrating the deep bonds we built this week.

Although Erasmus Goodbies are always hard, we kicked off by retracing our steps day by day, reflecting on the skills and stories we developed together. Looking toward the future, teams mapped out their local dissemination projects—planning how to bring the impact back home through heritage quizzes, free walking tours in their hometowns, and interactive project websites! We also explored future opportunities within Erasmus+ (from KA152 exchanges to other youth mobility paths) to keep the momentum going. 🗺️🚀

The evening brought pure emotion: revealing secret friend notes, an emotional circle of gratitude and hugs with eyes closed, and heartfelt reflections. As our group motto captured so beautifully in the closing circle:

*“We came as individuals, and we leave as friends—as a community.” ❤️🫂*

A chapter closes, but the stories and connections continue across Europe!

Day 6 of our Erasmus+ adventure! 🎬🍿🏰

Today brought our creative journey to the big screen, followed by an unforgettable cultural night!

First, our teams wrapped up post-production, editing and uploading their on-street footage. Our facilitators wove all the videos, street challenges, bloopers, and the 5 historical layers into one unified feature film: screened on the big projector for our grand premiere! Seeing all the laughter, hard work, and storytelling come together on screen was pure magic. 🎥✨

Then came our Romanian cultural evening: which started early and went wonderfully wild! We took historical drama to another level: sketching a giant territory map in chalk across the floor, acting out the legendary saga of Vlad the Impaler (Dracula), and bringing history to life with Turkish actors playing Sultan Mehmed II alongside his army, and his enemies portrayed as Stephen the Great and Matthias Corvinus! An epic blend of theater, humor, and shared regional history. ⚔️🇹🇷🇷🇴

Day 5 of our Erasmus+ adventure! 🎬🗺️✨
Today, the entire city of Timișoara became our movie set!

Armed with cameras, microphones, and creative storyboards, our 5 international teams hit the historic streets to film on-location reels across Timișoara’s 5 cultural layers: from the Pioneer and Imperial layers to the Revolution landmarks, global coffee roots, and vibrant modern street art!

Between completing urban challenges, interviewing locals, dodging unexpected bloopers, and capturing genuine comedic moments on the go, our stories truly came alive. The raw footage is packed with energy, humor, and heart, and we can’t wait to bring it all together for the big stage premiere! 🍿🏛️

Day 4 of our Erasmus+ adventure! 🤖💻📱
Today, we bridged cultural heritage with cutting-edge digital creation!
We kicked things off with Prompt Engineering, learning how to turn AI from a generator of boring clichés into a powerful storytelling partner using the 4-Pillars formula (Role, Context, Heritage Anchor, Tone & Constraints). Next, we stepped up our digital game in our Landing Page Lab, building and deploying live, mobile-first websites on Vercel to showcase local heritage without writing a single line of code!
To cap it all off, we jumped into a fast-paced Video Production Sprint at Casa Tineretului: mastering visual hooks, tight cuts, and CapCut editing to produce dynamic, high-retention Reels about our Erasmus life and historical layers—screened live on the big screen! 🎬✨
From raw AI prompts to fully deployed websites and viral-ready video edits, our digital skills leveled up big time! 🚀

Day 3 of our Erasmus+ adventure! 🎬🎭
Today was all about mastering the art of storytelling and owning the stage!
In our sessions, we explored how to turn raw historical facts into captivating narratives and learned the secret formula behind creating engaging Reels (Hook → Context → Story → Payoff → Call to Action). We also stepped out of our comfort zones to master non-verbal communication—from silent legends roleplay to analyzing our own body language on camera. To wrap it all up, everyone took the stage to deliver dynamic pitches and practice constructive peer feedback! 🎙️✨
Confidence is growing, creativity is through the roof, and our stage ideas are taking shape!

Day 2 of our Erasmus+ adventure! 🗺️✨

Today, we stepped into the shoes of professional storytellers! We explored what makes an exceptional tour guide, analyzing different guiding styles, communication methods, and leadership profiles in our “Guide Profile 1 & 2” sessions. Then, we hit the streets to put theory into practice, exploring how to craft engaging local narratives and connect audiences with cultural heritage. 🏛️🎙️

Hands-on learning, vibrant perspectives, and the teamwork is getting stronger every day!

Day 1 of our Erasmus+ journey! 🌍

We got to know each other, took part in team-building activities, explored what cultural heritage means, and discovered the skills and competences we’ll develop throughout the project.

A great start to a week of learning, creating and connecting!
