The “Inter-Art” Foundation Aiud, established in 1996, provides an alternative approach to contemporary art. The international art camp in Aiud, has joined more then 300 artists from 58 countries over the last 18 years. It's one of

the most important creation camp in the Eastern Europe. In spring 2000, at the initiative of the “Inter-Art” Foundation Aiud and by the decision of the Local Council, Aiud municipality received the title “City of Arts” as recognition for the important artistic events which took place there. In August 2000, at the final exhibition of the 5th “Inter-Art” International Art Camp, the “Inter-Art” Galleries were inaugurated; a place promoting contemporary art, artistic value, and encouraging young visual artists. Until now were organized over 100 local, national and international, solo as well as group exhibitions. The 10th edition of the International “Inter-Art” Art Camp is celebrated with the opening of the “Inter-Art Contemporary Art Museum” Aiud, gathering 500 visual art works created by visual artists from over 50 countries. The „Inter-Art” Foundation was the promoter during the years of some important international art exhibitions at the Romanian Literature Museum - Bucharest, Naval Museum – Istanbul (Turkey), „Atelier the Artists” Gallery - Cairo (Egypt), „Shagun” and „Artists Centre” Gallery - Bombay (India), Woodrow Wilson Center - Washington D.C. and NAP Gallery - Kutztown (USA), „Time” Gallery - Vienna (Austria), Vichy and Chatel Montagne (France). The most important exhibitions so far took place in March 2009 at the United Nations Headquarters from New York (USA), where the Inter-Art Foundation exhibited works of 52 artists from 33 countries from all over the world. Our next great moment took place in March 2013 at the European Parliament from Brussels (Belgium), where 82 artists from 52 countries and 16 young artists under 16 years old from 5 countries were exhibited. The greatest achievement so far happened in September 2013 when the Inter-Art Foundation was invited for the second time to exhibit at the United Nations Headquarterd from New York, organizing this time the biggest mail art exhibition as number of participating countries (322 artists from 110 countries).
