THE "INVISIBLE" CATS AND THE BACKYARD KITTENS: HOW DO WE STOP THE SUFFERING?
In all my years of rescue work, I have learned a painful truth: cats are always the last to receive help. They multiply rapidly, suffer in silence under cars or in dark basements, and those born in private backyards often end up abandoned on the streets.
I have decided to tackle the root of the problem. The only real way to stop abandonment is STERILIZATION. My mission is to help as many cats as possible—whether they live on the streets or in people's backyards.

The Vicious Cycle of "Rescue": Why Has Nothing Changed After Decades?

Thirteen years have passed since I first stepped into the world of animal welfare. After a decade of working on the front lines and seeing it all, the conclusion is undeniable: nothing has changed.The streets remain just as crowded with unsterilized animals, and shelters are just as overcrowded. We have created a system that spins in circles, exhausting resources, lives, and souls, without ever touching the root of the problem.During this time, the number of "rescuers" has grown, but unfortunately, many have chosen the easiest yet most irresponsible path: accumulation. Hoarding animals from the street into a space without a solid foundation of your own resources—only to appeal daily to public "pity" and emotional blackmail for food—is NOT rescue. It is the management of suffering, and it leads nowhere.It is an illusion to believe you can change anything if your only dream is to have your own shelter where you collect dogs indefinitely, ignoring the only real solution: STERILIZATION. Without a massive commitment to prevention, any individual "rescue" effort is just a drop in an ocean of indifference.Furthermore, there is a reality that many ignore: external support is volatile. Donors or organizations offering help today can disappear tomorrow. Priorities shift, resources run dry, and those who built missions based exclusively on the hope that "someone else will always pay the bill" wake up in dramatic situations, endangering the very lives they claimed to save.True rescue does not mean moving an animal from the street into a cage where its dignity depends on a handful of kibble begged for on Facebook. True rescue means having the courage to stop the flow of suffering through education and constant sterilization.Until we stop being "ants" running chaotically in a mound full of drama and start acting strategically, we will remain stuck in this vicious cycle. It is time for effort to be directed toward the CAUSE, not just the effect. Are we rescuing with our heads, or are we just feeding our need to control dependent souls?

Astăzi am ieșit în stradă pentru cei care nu pot striga singuri după ajutor. În fața Parlamentului și în marile orașe din țară, mii de oameni am spus clar: STOP eutanasierii în masă!
Nu mai putem accepta „lagărele morții” și risipa banului public pe suferință. Cerem:
✅ Reformarea legislației privind gestionarea câinilor fără stăpân;
✅ Transparență totală în adăposturile publice și private;
✅ Soluții umane: sterilizare, nu ucidere!
Sângele celor 15.000 de suflete pierdute la Suraia nu trebuie să rămână uitat. Suntem aici pentru Heidi și pentru toate animalele maltratate în sistemul care ar fi trebuit să le protejeze. 💔

Duminică, 22 februarie, între orele 16:00 – 19:00, în fața Parlamentului (intrarea dinspre zona Izvor),are loc un protest împotriva modului în care statul gestionează problema câinilor fără stăpân.🐶🐾
‼️Evenimentul își propune să atragă atenția asupra nevoii de soluții eficiente, umane și transparente privind gestionarea animalelor fără stăpân.

Respect pentru Animale este o inițiativă dedicată protejării și promovării drepturilor animalelor în România. Luptăm pentru o legislație mai justă, pentru aplicarea corectă a legii și pentru o societate în care fiecare ființă este tratată cu empatie și respect.

În fiecare sâmbătă dimineața, pe TVR 1, de la 11:30, vă invităm să urmăriți emisiunea „Povestea din ochii lor”. Emisiunea conține mai multe rubrici extrem de utile. Una dintre ele este dedicată legislației și este realizată de colega noastră Raluca.
În România, animalele au legi care le protejează. Trebuie să cunoaștem aceste legi, să înțelegem că noi, ca proprietari de animale, avem obligații. Să înțelegem că sterilizarea și microciparea câinilor sunt elemente cheie într-o societate civilizată.
Suntem recunoscători pentru acest demers jurnalistic, care s-a realizat sub umbrela Respect pentru animale, proiect inițiat de Andrei Baciu.
