Feeback From Daniel, T4Y’s Member:

Participating in the « Marginalized Youth Against Disinformation » project in Berlin was an experience I didn’t know I needed—both for my mind and my heart.

One of my favorite moments was our fieldwork at the Berlin Wall. My group was tasked with interviewing people passing by this iconic spot. I honestly expected people to be busy or indifferent, but I was so wrong. Whether they were locals or tourists, people stopped. They wanted to talk. It was surprising and inspiring to see how conscious people actually are about the history of this place, the dangers of propaganda, and the fight against fake news today. It gave me hope to realize that people are much more aware of these problematics than I thought.

But this trip was also personal. I actually had an accident while I was there, and that’s when the true spirit of this exchange shined through. I was in a tough spot, but I found unexpected kindness in this group of strangers who quickly became friends. The way everyone helped me out and supported me was amazing.

I came to Berlin to learn about critical thinking, but I left learning just as much about myself and the power of human connection. Thank you to the organizers and my team for the knowledge, the laughs, and for being there when I needed it most.

Exploring the marine 🌊 and volcanic 🌋 ecosystems of Reunion Island showed us how powerful a real “living classroom” can be.
Seeing such incredible biodiversity made me realise how essential environmental and ecological literacy is for young people today.
Understanding nature’s interconnections helps them move from simply observing 🌱 to actively protecting the environment.
As youth workers, we can guide this journey by creating outdoor experiences and community moments that inspire real action.
Among the tools we explored, citizen science 📊 was one of the most valuable because it let us collect and interpret real environmental data.
Digital storytelling 🎥 helped transform these observations into powerful and accessible stories.
Inclusive facilitation techniques ensured that every voice felt heard, making learning truly participatory.
These methods are easy to bring back home through youth-led eco-projects, outdoor sessions, and local community engagement 🌍.
Combining environmental education, participation, and responsible media creation empowers young people to create real impact 💪.
If we keep supporting them, they can build initiatives that promote resilience, inclusion, and a shared commitment to protecting our planet 🌱💚.
👉 Join us in spreading awareness and inspiring more youth to take action!

Feedback From Fernando:

Over the past weeks, I had the chance to participate in the Marginalized Youth Against Disinformation project, an experience that took me to Berlin and allowed me to explore one of Europe’s most historically symbolic cities while learning about the roots and mechanisms of propaganda. Walking through Berlin was like moving between past and present; every street, every monument, every museum reminded us how fragile truth can be when information is manipulated.

One of the moments that impacted me the most was our visit to the remains of the Berlin Wall. Standing in front of what once divided families, communities, and entire ways of thinking helped me understand how disinformation can be used to justify discrimination and reinforce fear. We also visited documentation centers and exhibitions that explained how N**i Germany weaponized propaganda against marginalized groups, spreading narratives that dehumanized entire populations. It was a difficult but necessary reminder of how harmful false information can be when it becomes a political tool.

During the training sessions, we worked on media literacy, analysis of online narratives, and strategies to recognize manipulation techniques in digital environments. We practiced evaluating sources, identifying emotional framing, and understanding how algorithms can amplify false content. Beyond theory, we analyzed real cases and even simulated how disinformation spreads in social networks—an exercise that opened my eyes to how quickly harmful narratives can gain traction if we are not critical and responsible.

Feedback From Ana, T4Y Member:

I had the opportunity to join the Marginalized Youth Against Disinformation project organized by European Progressive Youth, Copernicus Yerevan, Together for Youth, and NGO UNIT. An international project that brought together participants from Armenia, Ukraine, France and Germany, creating an inspiring space for cultural exchange and learning.

Among the many activities we did, exploring Berlin was definitely one of the most meaningful. Walking through the city and visiting museums, memorials, and the Berlin Wall allowed us to understand how misinformation and propaganda shaped Berlin’s history, and how similar mechanisms still appear today in the digital world. Seeing these places firsthand gave real context to the topics we had discussed throughout the training.

What made this activity even richer was sharing it with participants from different countries. As we explored the city together, we exchanged personal stories, compared perspectives, and reflected on how disinformation affects each of our communities differently. It was a moment of learning, connection, and cultural exchange, all while discovering Berlin’s history. This experience helped tie together the historical and social dimensions of the project, reminding us why media literacy and critical thinking matter so much today.

I’m grateful to the organizers and everyone involved in making this project possible. It was a valuable experience that brought together knowledge, history, and multicultural understanding in a truly meaningful way.
