AICR Qatar Welcome to the Qatar section of the A.I.C.R. the ‘Amicale Internationale des Chefs de Reception et Sous Directeurs des Grand Hotels’.

The Association of Front Office Managers and Assistant Managers of 4 and 5 star hotels, which represents the translation from the French original definition, was founded on the Cote d'Azur in France in 1964 and over the past 40 years has developed into an international fellowship with sections in 18 countries. The Qatar section of the AICR is currently being formed and are currently recruiting for

membership to have our first vote for a president of the AICR Qatar. Whilst the Amicale was founded as a professional organization, the name was chosen to reflect the friendship that is built between our members. The aims of the AICR are to facilitate and strengthen the professional relationships between members and to promote and publicise the importance of their profession, developing the profile of the industry through networking, training and development. Our membership constitutes an extensive source of contacts, offering invaluable networking opportunities, providing each other with support, information and advice. Throughout the year we organize events for our members that are offering a wide range of opportunities to get together, network, exchange our views and share our experiences and best practices. A key event in our annual calendar is the “Receptionist Of The Year Competition”, information about as well as other forthcoming events can be found on following pages, together with past newsletters, ways to contact your committee and the full membership database open to our current members. Today, together with the AICR International Section Presidents, we had the exclusive privilege of visiting the European Union External Action Service, and more specifically its Protocol Department. During this visit, we had the opportunity to discuss how protocol works, which was particularly insightful for us as hospitality leaders from around the world, allowing us to better understand its details and importance.

Special thanks to Anne Claire & Clément for organizing this visit. We look forward to more opportunities like this in the future.
