Africa is home to the world’s youngest population, and by 2055, around 40% of the world’s children are projected to live in Africa. Yet today, millions still face barriers to accessing quality primary education.

On Africa Day, Education Above All Foundation reaffirms its commitment to ensuring that every child, including those in the hardest-to-reach communities across the continent, has access to quality primary education.

Every child and young person in Africa has the right to education, and with it, a chance to build their future.

في إطار جهود برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي لاستعادة الوصول إلى التعليم في قطاع غزة

أنجزنا أعمال إنشاء 100 مساحة تعليمية موزعة على 10 مواقع مدرسية في مختلف أنحاء القطاع، بالشراكة مع وزارة التربية والتعليم العالي ومجموعة غزة للثقافة والتنمية، وبدعم كريم من مؤسسة التعليم فوق الجميع وصندوق قطر للتنمية.

ويهدف هذا التدخل إلى المساهمة في إعادة وصول ما يصل إلى 90 ألف طالب وطالبة متأثرين بالحرب إلى التعليم، ممن دُمّرت مدارسهم أو أصبحت غير صالحة للاستخدام، إلى جانب استعادة بيئات تعليمية آمنة ودعم استمرارية العملية التعليمية الوطنية.

As part of UNDP’s ongoing efforts to restore access to education in the Gaza Strip:

We have successfully completed the civil works for 100 learning spaces organized across 10 school sites throughout the Gaza Strip. This achievement was made possible through our partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Gaza Culture and Development Group, with the generous support of the Education Above All Foundation (EAA) and the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD).

This intervention aims to restore access to education for up to 90,000 students affected by the war whose schools have been destroyed or rendered unusable. By re-establishing safe, structured learning environments, we are supporting the continuity of national education processes and empowering both male and female students to return to their desks.

Education Above All Foundation is honoured to receive the Simón Bolívar Order of Democracy - Grand Cross, from the Congress of the Republic of Colombia, in recognition of its contribution to strengthening the protection of education from attack and expanding access to education opportunities for vulnerable children.

Through our work with the Global Coalition to Protect Education from Attack (GCPEA) and national institutions, including Colombia’s Special Jurisdiction for Peace, the Foundation supports efforts to strengthen accountability and legal protections for schools, students and teachers, helping to ensure that education can continue in contexts affected by conflict and violence. Working with the KoboToolbox, we have also helped strengthen education data systems.

Education Above All Foundation, in partnership with Fundación Pies Descalzos, and with support from the Qatar Fund For Development, has helped enrol more than 42,000 out of school children and supported children at risk of dropping out to remain in education.

This honour reflects a shared commitment to protecting education, expanding access, and supporting continuity, so that children can access education, stay in school and continue their education over time.

For children in Lebanon, war is disrupting more than daily life. It is disrupting their safety, their learning, and their hopes for the future.

Hala, a sixth-grade student from South Lebanon, was forced to leave her home and adjust to a new reality, where even online learning is difficult because of weak internet and crowded conditions.

Education Above All Foundation is working with Teach For Lebanon to help children affected by crisis continue learning, and stay connected to education.
