“Human development in the Gaza Strip has been set back by 77 years. To date, we have removed over 111,000 tons of rubble, and we are recycling and reusing these materials for humanitarian purposes, such as clearing roads to enable people to access hospitals, schools, and bakeries. We have also collected nearly 688,000 tons of solid waste, benefiting 1,400,000 people in the Gaza Strip,” says Amjad Shawa, Head of Programme / Assistant Special Representative of UNDP in Gaza.
