The Road Engineering Association of the Philippines Qatar Chapter (REAP-Qatar) recently held its prestigious International Conference at the JW Marriott Marquis City Center in Doha, State of Qatar, from November 7 to 9, 2024. This milestone event gathered professionals, engineers, and industry leaders from around the world, marking a significant step forward in advancing road engineering practices and fostering global collaborations.
The highlight of the conference was the chartering and induction of officers, which was facilitated by Her Excellency Lillibeth V. Pono, the Philippine Ambassador to Qatar and Engr. David G. Sanchez, the REAP National President. The newly inducted officers expressed their dedication to contributing to the field by enhancing professional standards and strengthening ties among engineers worldwide.
In a show of solidarity and collaboration among other chapters, the REAP Lanao del Sur Chapter, headed by its Chapter President Engr. Benitez Derogongan, also attended the event. Such participation underscored the strong network and mutual support, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and shared purpose. Chapter President Engr. Ben and the Lanao del Sur Chapter delegates took the opportunity to exchange insights, connect with fellow professionals, and participated in the technical conference, which is anchored on the broader discussions on advancing road engineering both locally and internationally.
The conference continued its third day with a series of technical sessions delivered by a diverse lineup of speakers. These sessions explored the latest trends, technologies, and innovations relevant to road engineering. By facilitating the exchange of ideas and best practices, the conference served as a platform for learning, collaboration, and growth within the global road engineering community.
