🏏🖤💛 MCG OBA Qatar Clinch the 6th Lovers' Quarrel 2026 for the Third Consecutive Time! 💛🖤🏏

The 6th Lovers' Quarrel 2026 between MCG OBA Qatar and RCG OBA Qatar was successfully held on 25th June 2026 at the Qatar Foundation Cricket Ground.

After winning the toss, RCG OBA Qatar elected to field first. MCG's opening pair, Vishal Senarathna and Ashan Weerawarna, gave their team a superb start with a 58-run partnership in just 5.3 overs.

Following Ashan's dismissal, Nalaka Gurugamage joined Vishal to produce a magnificent 169-run partnership, putting MCG firmly in control.

MCG OBA Qatar posted a commanding 255/4 in their 20 overs.

In reply, RCG OBA Qatar lost an early wicket when Nalaka Gurugamage dismissed Chathura Douglas in the first over with the score on 6.

Uvindu Nanayakkara then removed Yuresh Gunasekara, reducing RCG to 31/2.

Captain Roshan Megawarna and Viduranga Nadeeshan rebuilt the innings before Saman Fonseka broke the partnership at 70. Saman continued his outstanding spell by dismissing Jayashan at 129 (brilliantly stumped by Vishal Senarathna) and later removed Rajitha Jayasooriya at 169.

The biggest breakthrough came when Vishal Senarathna dismissed the dangerous Roshan Megawarna, who was brilliantly caught by Ashan Weerawarna. It was a spectacular catch and one of the defining moments of the match.

Roshan played a magnificent innings of 77 runs from 37 balls, including 6 fours and 5 sixes. Tilanka Kariyawasam remained unbeaten on 37 runs from 21 balls, but RCG OBA Qatar finished on 219/8.
