In the second episode of Footnotes to Frontlines, Reem Shaikh, PhD Candidate at the University of Texas, explains how divorce represents an opportunity to discover the dynamic and adaptable nature of Islamic law.

‎عقدت أبحاث المجادلة بالتعاون مع درا الإفتاء المصرية برعاية فضيلة الأستاذ الدكتور نظير محمد عياد، مفتي جمهورية مصر العربية ورشة بحثية متخصصة، شاركت فيها الدكتورة نجاح نادي مديرة قسم البحوث، والزميلة الباحثة في المجادلة، د. غادة الغنيمي. تجسد هذه المشاركة التزامنا بالتواصل والتعاون مع مؤسسات البحث الإسلامي، أينما كانت، وتعكس سعينا المستمر إلى الإسهام في تطوير الدراسات الإسلامية، وفتح حوار مثمر بين المفاهيم العقدية ومتطلبات العالم المعاصر.

Al-Mujadilah Research in collaboration with Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta’ organized a specialized research workshop under the patronage of His Eminence Professor Dr. Nazir Ayyad, Grand Mufti of Egypt. Dr. Najah Nadi, Research Manager at Al-Mujadilah, along with research fellow, Dr. Ghada al-Ghonaymi, participated in the workshop reflecting efforts to engage and collaborate with Islamic research institutes. With such efforts, we continue our journey of advancing Islamic scholarship, and bringing theological concepts into dialogue with contemporary needs.
