The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. - State of Qatar Chapter, under the leadership of Chapter President Engr. Alfie Maniego Guillermo, successfully conducted its 2026 First Technical Seminar and General Membership Meeting on April 10, 2026 via Zoom video conferencing, marking the Chapter’s first major event of the year. The milestone event reaffirmed IIEE-SQC’s unwavering commitment to professional development and community engagement for Filipino electrical practitioners in Qatar.
The event was honored by the presence of distinguished dignitaries whose inspiring messages left a lasting impact on the attendees. Among them were Hon. Paul B. Cabugao, Assistant Labor Attaché of the Department of Migrant Workers Office - Doha; Hon. Adelino V. Garcia Jr., Chairman of the Professional Regulatory Board of Electrical Engineering (PRBEE); Engr. Robert U. Mabulay, 2026 IIEE National President; Engr. Gamajel T. Apilado, IIEE 2026 Foreign Region Governor; and Engr. Jaeger M. Gaorano, Chairman of the Philippine Professional Organization - Qatar (PPO-Q). Their participation highlighted the importance of strengthening professional excellence among Filipino electrical practitioners abroad.
The attendees also gained valuable technical knowledge through informative sessions delivered by respected industry professionals. Engr. Allan S. Ritumalta discussed “Electrical System Design of Healthcare Facilities,” while Engr. Joseph A. Santos presented “Electrical Schematic Diagram: Application for Industrial Retrofitting Works.” Engr. Rogel M. Juan also shared his expertise on “Electrical Integrated Control System (ELICS).” These technical presentations provided participants with practical insights and skills directly applicable to the electrical engineering profession.
A total of 196 participants attended the event, with 38 participants stationed at the Command Center, demonstrating the strong engagement and active participation of IIEE members and guests both onsite and virtually.
IIEE-SQC likewise extends its heartfelt appreciation to Qabayan FM 94.3 for serving as the event’s official media partner. Special thanks are also extended to all participants, former Chapter Presidents, advisers, and the 2026 Board of Directors for their continued support and contribution to the success of this meaningful event. The event was chaired by Engr. Joseph O. Salviejo, Chapter VP for Technical Affairs, together with Engr. Rudolf R. Escol, Co-Chair and Chapter Executive Secretary.
