The sixth edition of the Qatar National Dialogue on Climate Change took place in Doha on 28–29 September, under the theme “Advancing Climate Adaptation in Qatar: From Planning to Implementation.” Organised by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in partnership with Earthna, Qatar Foundation, the Dialogue brought together representatives from government, the private sector, climate experts, and specialists for a series of roundtable discussions.  The discussions focused on six key areas: water, energy and industry, agriculture and food systems, infrastructure and coastal areas, public health, and biodiversity. We extend our sincere thanks to all our partners for their support, with particular appreciation to our strategic partners, Qatar Free Zones Authority and QNB Group, for their valuable contribution to this year’s Dialogue.

اختُتمت أعمال النسخة السادسة من حوار قطر الوطني حول تغير المناخ، التي عُقدت في الدوحة يومي 28 و29 سبتمبر، تحت شعار: تعزيز التكيف المناخي في دولة قطر: من التخطيط إلى التنفيذ. ونظمت الحوار وزارة البيئة والتغير المناخي بالشراكة مع إرثنا عضو مؤسسة قطر، بمشاركة ممثلين عن الجهات الحكومية والقطاع الخاص، إلى جانب خبراء ومختصين في مجال المناخ، ضمن سلسلة من جلسات النقاش. وركزت المناقشات على ستة مجالات رئيسية هي: المياه، والطاقة والصناعة، والزراعة والنظم الغذائية، والبنية التحتية والمناطق الساحلية، والصحة العامة، والتنوع الحيوي. ونتقدم بخالص الشكر والتقدير إلى جميع شركائنا على دعمهم، مع الإشادة بشكل خاص بشركائنا الاستراتيجيين، هيئة المناطق الحرة في قطر وبنك قطر الوطني، على مساهمتهما القيّمة في إنجاح حوار هذا العام.

Along the world’s coastlines, the tide is turning for . Earthna is pleased to contribute to the new State of the World’s Mangroves report that shows just how far we’ve come. Our experts joined 190 individuals from over 30 countries as contributors to this one-of-a-kind resource.

Earthna joined CCI France Qatar - French Business Council for an exchange on sustainable buildings and resilient urban systems.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Gonzalo Castro de la Mata - Executive Director of Earthna, highlighted that sustainable urbanism is not simply an environmental ambition, but an essential part of building resilient cities, supporting economic competitiveness and ensuring quality of life.

The discussions explored smart buildings, energy efficiency, and systems integration, with Ghanim Al-Sulaiti - Qatari Diar, Eng. Salem Al-Awi - Qatar Foundation and Ronan Trégouëtët - Schneider Electric followed by a session on how buildings can move beyond conventional water management towards more circular approaches based on recovery, reuse, and reduced discharge with Eng. Salem M. Al-Awi, Zach Gallagher - Natural Systems Utilities and Mohamed ElSheiwi - Egis

شاركت إرثنا في جلسة حوارية نظمها مجلس الأعمال الفرنسي في قطر (CCI France Qatar)، تناولت المباني المستدامة والنظم الحضرية القادرة على الصمود.

وفي كلمته الافتتاحية، أكد د. غونزالو كاسترو دي لا ماتا، المدير التنفيذي لإرثنا، أن العمران المستدام لا يمثل مجرد طموح بيئي، بل يشكل ركيزة أساسية لبناء مدن قادرة على الصمود، وتعزيز التنافسية الاقتصادية، وضمان جودة الحياة.

وتناولت النقاشات عددًا من المحاور، من بينها المباني الذكية، وكفاءة استخدام الطاقة، وتكامل الأنظمة، بمشاركة غانم السليطي من الديار القطرية، والمهندس سالم العاوي من المدينة التعليمية، ورونان تريغويه من شنايدر إلكتريك.

كما تطرقت جلسة أخرى إلى سبل تجاوز الأساليب التقليدية لإدارة المياه في المباني، والتوجه نحو نهج أكثر دائرية يقوم على استعادة المياه وإعادة استخدامها والحد من تصريفها، بمشاركة المهندس سالم م. العاوي، وزاك غالاغر من (Natural Systems Utilities)، ومحمد الشيوي من (Egis).

نتوجه بالشكر إلى مجلس الأعمال الفرنسي في قطر على إتاحة هذه الفرصة، وإلى جميع المتحدثين والمشاركين على إسهاماتهم القيّمة في إثراء هذا الحوار.

Earthna Prize: Applications close today, 20 July 2026 at 11.59 PM (Arabian Standard Time/GMT+3). The Prize is grounded in the belief that traditional knowledge and cultural heritage are not only worth preserving but are vital resources for addressing today’s sustainability challenges.

We invite applications from organizations working in the following areas:
- Water systems
- Food systems
- Terrestrial ecosystems
- Marine and coastal ecosystems
- Built environments and settlements

Four winners will be selected from a US$1 million prize pool and recognized at the Earthna Summit 2027.
