The International Taekwon-Do Federation expresses its deepest condolences on the passing of Prof. Chang Ung (5 July 1938 – 29 March 2026), Honorary Life President of the ITF and former President from 2002 to 2015.

On hearing of his passing, ITF President Prof. GM RI Yong Son expressed his condolences, stating:

“Prof. Chang Ung assumed the presidency of the ITF at a moment of profound transition, following the passing of our Founder, General Choi Hong Hi, on 15 June 2002. Entrusted with this responsibility by the Founder himself, he carried forward the leadership of the Federation during a critical period, ensuring continuity, stability, and the preservation of the principles upon which ITF Taekwon-Do was built.

General Choi Hong Hi, in his final words regarding succession, expressed both his concern for the future and his confidence in Prof. Chang Ung. He spoke of a man who would stand tall for the Federation, who would carry forward its mission with strength and resolve, and whose presence would bring reassurance at a time of uncertainty. That trust, placed at such a defining moment in ITF history, remains a testament to the significance of Prof. Chang Ung’s role.”

May his legacy be remembered with respect.

Celebrating 60 Years of the International Taekwon-Do Federation
 
On this occasion, marking the 60th anniversary of the founding of the International Taekwon-Do Federation (I.T.F.), we pay tribute to our legendary Founder, General Choi Hong Hi.
 
The 22nd of March 1966 ushered in a new era in Taekwon-Do with the establishment of the I.T.F., which developed rapidly into a global organization. Today, it unites a vast international community of Taekwon-Do practitioners across five continents.
 
In our days, the Federation founded by General Choi Hong Hi carries forward his work in direct institutional continuity, operating from the Headquarters in Vienna which he himself established and from which he actively led the development of Taekwon-Do.
 
May his legacy continue to inspire and guide people worldwide in their efforts to build a more peaceful world through the moral principles and foundations he left behind.
 
This year holds even greater significance as we also prepare for the 60th Anniversary ITF Summit in Vienna in November 2026, to be held in conjunction with the birthday of the Founder.
 
We warmly invite all members of the global Taekwon-Do family to take part in these meaningful celebrations. Do not miss the opportunity to pay tribute and visit the Headquarters that embodies the spirit of General Choi Hong Hi and his enduring vision.

Un incontro ai massimi vertici per tracciare la rotta dei prossimi anni. La Segreteria Nazionale è orgogliosa di annunciare che nei giorni scorsi, presso la sede federale di Roma, si è tenuto un tavolo di confronto decisivo per la nostra disciplina.

Una delegazione di vertice del nostro Settore – guidata dal Presidente, Dott. Ruggiero Lanotte, e composta dall'Avv. Master Giuseppe Lanotte e dal Master Leandro Iagher – ha avuto il piacere di confrontarsi in un clima di grande cordialità con il Presidente della FITA (Federazione Italiana Taekwondo), Dott. Angelo Cito.

A margine del tavolo tecnico, la nostra delegazione ha consegnato al Presidente Cito un omaggio istituzionale: la targa celebrativa dei Campionati Mondiali ITF di Jesolo 2025. Un simbolo dei grandi traguardi internazionali già raggiunti dal nostro movimento e un ponte verso i futuri successi da costruire insieme.

Al centro di questo costruttivo dialogo ci sono, infatti, le prospettive di sviluppo e l'inquadramento del Taekwon-Do Tradizionale ITF all'interno della grande famiglia olimpica italiana.

Continuiamo a lavorare ai massimi livelli, con serietà, competenza tecnica e visione strategica, per garantire a tutti i nostri praticanti e alle Associazioni affiliate un percorso di crescita sportiva di assoluto prestigio, istituzionalmente riconosciuto e pienamente tutelato.

El 15 de marzo se realizó el 1er Campeonato Nacional de Tae Kwon-Do ITF Oficial 2026 bajo la fiscalización de la Asociación Paraguaya de Tae Kwon-Do ITF Tradicional en la sede social de la Cooperativa San Lorenzo.
280 competidores demostraron su espíritu marcial dentro del tatami en las modalidades de Tul o Patrón y Combate.
Felicitamos a todos actores de esta hermosa fiesta marcial.
