The Horse Project works with the healing issue between horses and humans and is constantly researching in trustful ways of contact. With this project we want to create a model where trust is the foundation for a peaceful cooperation amongst all living beings. Such a contact with horses demands an inner clarity and a sincere willingness to cooperate and for this reason teaches us new possibilities to interact. We are requested to communicate with the horses, read their signals and work nonviolently. The work with the horses is an important learning-field, for example in the love school. The parallels, which can be drawn between the historical structures in our love relationships and the conventional idea of the horse-human-contact, do not just reveal deep insights but especially the possibility to reflect and to varying shape them. The horses are helping in this process by approaching us open-minded, without prejudices, and by mirroring our behavior. In these common moments we can acquire an awareness of our inner power and ability to decide. Also in contact with children and adolescents horses can engage a formative role. On the one hand they support the natural development of motor skills and the balancing of feeling the body in a gentle and playful way. On the other hand they teach children and adolescents a responsibly contact with living and free beings and an openhearted, instead of efficiency-oriented, approach. With this idea of cooperation we perceive it as essential to enable our horses an appropriate life according to their natural characters. That means that they can implement their natural need for movement and can unfold themselves without restrictions. Step by step we want to prepare the transformation of pasture management, which –by healing nature – is integrated in a comprehensive ecological plan (for more details see Holistic Management). We want to learn with each other how to imbed the cooperation with horses in the plan of healing. Our project teaches us the balance of change and sustainability and we confront ourselves with these challenges by staying openhearted and attentive.
