RITA — READY FOR HER FOREVER LIFE
To everyone who’s followed Rita’s journey from the day she was found — lying in the middle of a remote road by Paulo near Tavira , barely able to move, full of ticks and completely drained — this is the post we’ve been waiting to write.
Because Rita isn’t that dog anymore.
Not even close.
She is strong.
She is calm.
She is absolutely thriving.
And truth be told… we knew she would be. From day one, even in that dreadful state, there was something in her — a quiet strength, a deep trust, a softness that hadn’t been broken.
Now that strength has bloomed into something extraordinary.
Rita was pregnant when she was found and gave birth to five amazing miracles in foster care with us. She has been with our friends at Portugal Paws with her babies and two of them are still looking for homes — but this post is about Rita.
Rita deserves a future that honours everything she’s given.
Rita is, quite honestly, the easiest and most respectful dog you could ask for.
Great with dogs, cats, people, homes, routines, busy days, quiet moments — she moves through it all with quiet grace.
No issues. No baggage. No drama.
Just a calm, soulful presence that brings peace to whatever space she’s in.
She will be sterilised before adoption, and we’ll only consider a home that truly sees her for who she is.
To everyone who helped her get here — thank you. Now let’s find Rita the life she was always meant to have.
She’s not a rescue story anymore.
She’s the reward.
We are determined that Rita’s life will be the best that we can possible find for her. After everything she has been through, she deserves only the best.
