Today as we leave Lisbon after a fantastic and informative trip to see and learn about the mini forest initiatives here, we stop to visit one of the the smallest mini forests in Lisbon at the Lisnave Port 🌳

This weekend we are in Lisbon, Portugal with GBC, filming for our series on urban mini forests and other ways to Green up Gibraltar with The Gibraltar Horticultural Society 🌳

We had the pleasure of meeting Antonio Alexandre at Lisbon University at the very first mini forest created in Lisbon in 2020. The inspiration for our dream of mini urban forests in Gibraltar 🌱

About Urban Forests Gibraltar

Urban Forests Gibraltar is a community-driven initiative to plant dense, fast-growing mini forests in urban areas across Gibraltar. Using the Miyawaki method, we restore native biodiversity, improve air quality, reduce urban heat, and reconnect people with nature, right where they live, work, and play.

Our goal is simple: by transforming small, unused plots of land into thriving ecosystems that support local wildlife and create green, peaceful spaces for everyone to enjoy.

This is a movement for the community, by the community. Whether you're passionate about the environment, looking to get your hands dirty, or simply want to help build a greener Gibraltar, we’d love to have you involved.
